So you know when all sorts of little things just go wrong, and it’s just annoying? That happened to me today after work. The day started off slow, with Emmie sleeping till about 7:45, and we finally got out of bed around 8am. The boys requested lemon poppyseed muffins for breakfast, so thats what they got! I expected these 12 muffins to last a couple of days, bit they were all gone by 3pm today!

Jeff’s parents took care of the boys for us today. Ryan & Gabe spent the morning with PopPop, and the afternoon with Nana. PopPop took them to Crawfordville and saw the old car graveyard. They thought it was super cool. They also talked Nana into icees and a trip to wander around Walmart.

First, for those wondering, I did end up going to bed early last night, around 8:30pm. I didn’t fall asleep right away, but it was still nice to at least be snuggled up all cozy in the bed.
Emerson had a good day at school today, but I know she missed seeing her Aunt Meggie a few times during the day, since they are on their way to Ireland!

Emmie loves her Pepaw. (She also loves that he gives her donut holes, which she’s tightly clutching in that tiny fist.)

So this Saturday started out with the boys practically begging for donuts, so after they twisted our arms, we gave in. Daddy drove them to Donut Kingdom, and they brought back a dozen, and a bag of donut holes. Also, you can see Emmie was still loving her stuffed Doxie doggie.

As I walked into Emerson’s class this morning at school, her teacher from her old room was in there, and Emmie was so excited to see her! She reached for her to give her a hug, and it was adorable. Moments like that make it a little bit easier to leave my girl every day.

Today on my lunch break, I ran home super fast to throw some good stuff in the Crock-Pot. Then tonight for dinner, we had the most delicious meal! I didn’t make up this recipe myself, but I do make it all the time, and we love it around here. It’s the easiest thing ever, and comes out perfect every single time. I’ve made this for guests, and everyone is always impressed. I’ve also shared the recipe with co-workers, and then they’ve raved about how much they liked it too. In case you’re interested, here’s what you need to know…
Recipe:
Throw chicken in pot, top with the liquids, then top with the seasonings. Turn on low for 6 hours, or high for 4. Shred with forks, put back in liquid, leave on warm for 10 minutes. Eat & enjoy!

Of course the skies opened up right as it was time to leave work this afternoon. It was absolutely flooding, and there was a 4-foot wide river flowing down the street in front our building. The bottom half of my body was drenched, and my sandals were completely soaked and squishy.

Well today started out in pure chaos! Wcome to Monday with five people in the house, right?! Emmie woke up super early again, around 4:45, but luckily she soothed herself back to sleep after a bit. Fast forward to roughly 7am while the boys are getting ready for summer camp, and Gabe realizes he left his tennis shoes in his mom’s car, in South Carolina. And that caused a major meltdown, and a minor fight between the two boys, and some yelling from Daddy.(Just being honest here, folks!)

Today was a great Sunday, y’all! The morning started off with an early morning wake-up from our baby girl around 5:30am. Normally, she sleeps until we wake her up around 7am, so I’m not sure why she woke up so early. This morning was our women’s breakfast event at church, and it went really well! The breakfast foods we’re yummy, the coffee was piping hot and I got to spend time with my mama, grandmother and aunt. We also heard a great testimony from my church friend Megan (not my sister). For my solo, I sang “Choose To Love” by Francesca Battistelli, and it went well! The track was super quiet though so I missed my cue, and I had to ask them to restart it, twice… But the third time was the charm, and then it went great!

Anyways, this week, it’s Go Green week at daycare, and today all the babes were supposed to wear green from head to toe. Luckily, both of these cute pieces were in the bag of stuff from last night, so I paired them together for a fun, green outfit, and I love it! The pants are just adorable! You probably remember (because it was just last week), my parents went out of town to Dallas, TX, for the annual Southern Baptist Convention. They went with our pastor and his wife, my aunt & uncle, and two other families from our church. Tonight, we didn’t have choir, so that we could all attend the report meeting to hear about the convention from Pastor Ronny.
Here’s a few quick stats: almost 10,000 “Messengers” attended from around the county, which was the most since the 2010 convention. (“Messengers” are voting members of the Southern Baptist churches. “Guests” can also attend, but not vote.) Bradfordville sent 10 messengers and three guests. We commissioned 79 new international missionaries. Which is a great thing, because there are 2.8 billion people in the world with little to know knowledge of the gospel.

Today’s post is going to be just mostly about Emerson, but y’all are OK with that right? Ok good, I thought so. She wore the most adorable outfit today with spaghetti straps and flower pants. And she was just too much cuteness! The onesie said “sweet like Mommy,” which I loved. I may not always be sweet, but I know my girl certainly is! She’s just the sweetest!!

This morning started off sweet, when Emerson gave Daddy a book for her father’s day gift. Then she had strawberries and peach Cheerios for her breakfast before church.

Today was full of lots of good things, even in the midst of still feeling sad from yesterday. My parents are back in town finally for one thing, and we spent some time with them after breakfast this morning at their house. Emerson was very excited to see Grammy & Pepaw, and very excited to play with all the new IKEA cups, bowls & plates, and tear up a few napkins.
Then while Emerson napped, I got the living room, kitchen, & dining room all clean today, and that always makes me feel better about life.
