I was on the praise team at church again this morning, so I had to be there a couple of hours early, at 8am. Emerson wanted to go early with me, and she was so cute just laying on the front row, journaling while we rehearsed our worship songs.

I made scrambled egg sandwiches for Jeff and the girls, and then made egg-in-the-hole for myself, using the last of the sourdough bread we had stashed away. Plus some leftover bacon & strawberries too. And it was amazing. (The boys don’t wake up early enough for breakfast, and if they do, they just skip it an wait for lunch.)

Well, early this morning, we did finally take Addison to the doctor’s office, after many multiple days of fevers. Turns out, she has an ear infection. My guess is that she just had a cold at the beginning of the week, and it turned into an infection by last night/this morning. So while we waited for the pharmacy to fill the antibiotic prescription, we had some breakfast at Chick-fil-A.

Y’all know how weird the week between Christmas & New Year’s is…. so today is just a tiny quick post, with only a handful of photos, with not much to report. It was so dark and gloomy outside, but that made my office feel that much warmer and cozier.

We have had the most chill, the most lazy day-after-Christmas at home. I mean, the girls still woke us up pretty early, but then after that, we had a chill breakfast, followed by a quiet movie time, wherein Addison, Jeff and myself all fell back asleep around the living room. Only Emerson stayed awake all morning. Eventually, the boys got up around 11:30 or so, and we all found leftovers and things for lunch. Then we all took about 30 minutes to clean up and put away things from Christmas, which were all just dumped in the dining room floor when we got home last night.

To start our Christmas Eve Sunday, we had a traditional Christmas Eve service this morning. It was my first Sunday not serving anywhere, and it was so nice to sit in the pew with my little family.

Nana came over early this morning, to pick up Jeff, to travel to bring the boys back here for the Christmas break. She stopped to get Chick-fil-A breakfast on her way over, and picked up food for the girls and me too. Please look at how precious they are, sharing their Sprite together.

Today was the Christmas celebration service at church, full of all sorts of Christmassy goodness. We sang Christmas carols, and had a Christmas photo spot, and little Christmas train, and a hot chocolate bar. It was a great morning at church with our GC family!

Today was “Santa is Coming to Town” day at Gilchrist, and Santa actually did come visit the kids at Growing Room! We actually thrifted Emerson’s little dress for about $6 last year, and we remembered it this morning, which we were excited about. These sweet little girls were very precious this morning. Addison in particular was in such a great, silly little mood today. This first picture was Addie checking out her shirt, when I told them they were both wearing stars today. She was very excited about that.
