Souper Day
It’s Red Ribbon week at Gilchrist, for the “say no to drugs campaign,” so they have special dress up days all week. Today was sports day, so Emmie was a Seminole cheerleader today. And although Addie looks very solemn, she was fine, but just didn’t want to smile 😉

Taylor Swift & Wonder Woman
Skipping right ahead to Sunday afternoon, where we attended two fall festivals, on East Mahan & West Tennessee (just funny both churches are on the same road, just opposite ends of town). Generically, Emerson is a cheerleader, but specifically, she’s Taylor Swift from the “Shake It Off” music video. And sweet baby sister looked adorable in big sister’s hand-me-down Wonder Woman costume!

Two Paper Airplanes Flying
So at midnight last night, 1989 Taylor’s Version was released. But after a few rough nights with sick baby, I was too tired to stay up until midnight to listen (but very thankful Addison actually slept through the night last night!). So instead, of course I listened to it first thing this morning while I was getting ready for the day! (Today’s title is of course from Taylor lyrics.)

Parking Lot Cookout
Addison had another rough night last night, and her cough seemed to be getting worse. So I decided to take her to the doctor’s office, to get her checked out. It’s not flu, covid, or RSV, her lungs sounded fine, and she doesn’t have an ear infection. There’s a possibility it was croup, but they only treat it within the first 48 hours, and she’s on day 3. So basically, whatever it is just needs to run it’s course…

…Church Day
Beautiful little girls, looking beautiful in more fall dresses for church this morning. Jeff had to be there early at 8:30 for his turn serving in the sound booth in GC kids, but I had the day off, so the girls and I didn’t even have to leave the house until 9:30, and that was so nice!

Pumpkin Patch
We’ve had another great Saturday, full of fall activities and family time. So thankful for this chill day, after such a busy couple of weeks! We started the morning by meeting up with PopPop for breakfast at Keke’s Breakfast Cafe. Nana was out of town, so we missed her, but we enjoyed this nice breakfast out! And the girls thought it was so fun to go in their pj’s.

On our only full day in Nola, we still let ourselves sleep in a little late (since we literally never can with kids), and finally made it out onto Canal Street by 9:30am. We bought the one-day express pass to ride the street cars and busses, and we took full advantage of that, and loved it!

Started off the morning making delicious pumpkin chocolate chip oatmeal for breakfast today. I saw it on a TikTok video the other day, and just couldn’t stop thinking about it. I may or may not have put a few too many choc chips (is that even a thing?), but it was super yummy.
