Old Fashioned Grocery Shopping

The kitchen was a mess this morning, from the last few busy days and not washing dishes, and I did not feel like cooking. So Jeff ran out to get us breakfast from McDonald’s instead, and that was yummy. Then the girls wanted to do some more coloring at the table.

Sat down on the couch to drink another little cup of coffee, and we all watched Ratatouille together.

Then I washed up a TON of dishes, and Jeff and the girls cleaned the living room and started up some laundry. Then he vacuumed and dusted the ceiling fan, and I scrubbed the kitchen counter. We were really on a roll with the chores.

I made the girls lunch (that they literally did not eat), and then got them down for naps. Then while they slept, I scrounged up some leftovers for Jeff and I to have for lunch, and we both finally sat down to eat and rest for a bit. Jeff ran out to do some computer work at one of his side jobs eventually, and then the girls finally woke up from their naps. I cleaned up Addison’s room (her toys were all over the place), and tidied up and scrubbed the dining room table.

Then we needed some fresh air, so we played out in the carport for a bit. But it was hotter than we were expecting it to be, so we didn’t last long before heading back inside.

Jeff and Addie stayed home to rotate another load of clothes, and fold a couple of loads from the dryer. Emmie and I did some old fashioned grocery shopping at Aldi (instead of the online order & pickup we usually do) and it was so crowded in there, but she was a good little helper.

After quickly putting all the groceries away at home, we went out for dinner at Chick-fil-A. I wanted to try the new honey pimento pepper chicken sandwich that everyone has been raving about. Well, it was decent, but not amazing. I would definitely just rather have the regular spicy sandwich, and add honey & jalapeno’s, and that would be delicious.

The girls got straight into the bathtub when we got home, and had a grand old time splashing away in there. Jeff also scrubbed down our bathroom sink while I wash the girls’ hair. We really were trying to get a lot done today, after a lot of busy Saturday’s lately. We watched one Bluey all cuddled up on the couch, and then went our separate ways to get the girls down for bedtime.

Both girls were very sleepy, and very much ready for bed. And after all those chores today, I’m ready for some rest and sleep myself! But first, I’m going to put some of those nail wraps on my fingernails (bought a bunch online recently, and they’re actually better than I was expecting), which should only take me about 10-15 minutes, and then it’ll be time to chill.
