The Eras Tour

Started off the morning making delicious pumpkin chocolate chip oatmeal for breakfast today. I saw it on a TikTok video the other day, and just couldn’t stop thinking about it. I may or may not have put a few too many choc chips (is that even a thing?), but it was super yummy.

And unfortunately, while I was making that delicious oatmeal, Addison was getting carried away with a purple marker all over our light gray couch. In addition to all this, there was also a large splotch on the back side too. Jeff watched some “how-to-clean-marker” YouTube videos, and got to work, and was able to get a good start on it, but we still gotta work on it a lot more tomorrow too…

The whole morning was devoted to a bunch of chores, since last Saturday was pretty much all play and no work. So today we cleaned the living room and kitchen (plus the no-man’s-land in between the two), the dining room, washed the dishes, did some laundry, scrubbed Emerson’s very messy tennis shoes, cleaned out a bunch of lint and dust between the glass and screen of our bathroom window, and cleaned the mirror, plus vacuumed the living room carpet and wet-swiffered the kitchen and bathrooms. We were very busy bees.

The girls had a little snack lunch, Jeff and I had sandwiches, and then we all had nap and/or rest time for a few hours. Addie woke up crying after about 45 minutes, so I grabbed her and ended up holding her while she slept another 2 hours, in which I obviously fell asleep too.

Once we finally woke up from naps, Jeff and Addie went to Walmart to pick up our grocery order, plus oil to change the oil in my car. Emmie stayed home with me and we each took turns showering. Around 5pm, after a few more chores, I needed to sit down and rest my feet, and fuel up for a late night, with a very late afternoon coffee, while the girls were playing and watching Lilo & Stitch.

And then it was finally time to see the Taylor Swift | The Era’s Tour concert movie! I bought the tickets a couple months ago, about 10 minutes after it was announced, and it felt like a long time to get here. But I was so excited to go tonight!! Jeff was a good sport and went with me, so we actually got the girls a babysitter, for the first time ever. (We’re lucky to have both our families in town to take care of them, but this was a very late night, and we didn’t even get home until 11:30pm…)

So here are some photos of the girls having fun with their babysitter, Miss Ary, who is actually Addison’s daycare teacher, and also helps out with childcare at church sometimes, so they both love her very much.

And then a bunch of pictures I took at the movie, while pretending I was at an actual concert. You guys, I literally sang every single word for the full 3-hour movie, while sitting on the edge of my seat and dancing along. And it was so much stinking fun!! The movie is amazing, and Taylor is beautiful, and it sounds INCREDIBLE. I actually cried for the first two songs, because it was so beautiful and it sounded so. good. (Especially in comparison with all those low-quality TikTok videos I watched over the summer.) If you’ve seen those videos online of fans going nuts in the theaters, mine wasn’t like that, but everyone was still singing along from their seats like I was.

I even bought myself a new Taylor Swift / book-themed t-shirt (to match the tote bag I got a few months back) specifically to wear to the movie tonight, which I love and is my new favorite t-shirt.

I had the best time tonight at the movie, and I’m SO glad this exists, since I couldn’t get concert tickets. Can’t wait till this comes out on streaming, so I can watch it again!

Oh, the one sad part was that AMC had already run out of the special Taylor collectible popcorn tin & drink cup (like, howwww did you not prepare and order enough!?), so I didn’t get one of those 🙁 They said they’re supposed to get more in next Thursday, and I’m crazy enough to go back to the theater simply to try to purchase that!
