Spirit Day Friday

Back at school again today, wearing a new purple Growing Room shirt for spirit day. I don’t quite know what all these silly little faces are about though 🙂

I had picked out a pair of jeans for her to wear with her t-shirt, but she grabbed the PJ pants out of her drawer instead, and specifically said, “I’m gonna be silly and wear these today!” And some battles aren’t worth fighting, so girlfriend wore jammies to school today!

On the ride to school, out of nowhere she said, “Am I gonna go to kindergarten? Am I, Mommy?” So I said, “yeah baby, when you’re five.” She said, “It sounds like we’re gonna plant. (long pause) Garden, Mommy!”  I laughed out loud and said, “You’re right baby, it does sound like gardening.” (We’ve been talking lately about how she can take a a lunch box to school when she goes to kindergarten.)

I really enjoyed the fresh air on my lunch break, but even while wearing a sweater, sitting in the shade with the wind blowing, I was actually pretty chilly!

Emmie had kind of a rough drop-off at school this morning. The triplets weren’t there when we got there, and she kind of walked into my thumb nail and got a scratch on her nose, and she just didn’t want to leave Mommy. But once Megan & Bo got to school, she got to hug on them, and then go to the babies’ room to hug on them too, and that made her feel better! And then she had a good day at school after that!

When I picked her up after school, she was telling me all about her day. She told me she went to another classroom while her class went on the playground. She said, “Ms. Rose had cool things in home living – chairs and cleaning stuff and hats!”

Jeff went over to a friends house to help him move some furniture around, so Emmie and I had a little girls’ night, with a trip to Hobby Lobby first. we spent about 20 minutes looking at all of the Christmas ornaments, with Emerson wanting to buy about 100 of the most gaudy ones possible 🙂 We finally both agreed on a cute little red cardinal, which really is fitting, since we have so many cardinals around our house, that always come to the feeders we put seeds in. It was on sale, so it was a whopping $1.92!

I gave her a list of things to choose from for dinner (like, sandwiches, tacos, burgers or chicken), and she wanted burgers. I was thinking we’d do something like Five Guys or SmashBurger, but she asked for Whataburger, so that’s where we went! And girlfriend went to town on that burger!

The weather was still so nice outside, and we just couldn’t stand to go inside before it was absolutely necessary. So we went out to get the mail, and then stayed out in the front yard until it got dark.

My black sandals broke a few days ago while I was wearing them around Meg’s church, so before we even left there, I had hopped on Amazon and ordered a new pair. I was also influenced on Instagram to buy these thick pens (I love a smooth, thick pen, that writes with a think line). I tested them out really quickly earlier, and they are gooood.

Daddy got home a little after her normal bedtime, but I had let her stay up late waiting on him. So we got her in her jammies and started getting her ready for bed. She wanted to brush her own hair tonight, and she did a great job 😉

She was putting her little baby to sleep while I read a princess story, being super sweet and loving on her.

She was having a hard time listening and following instructions (she was just wallowing around, not wanting to go to sleep or settle down), so she almost got herself in trouble. But when I threatened “no lullabies,” she straightened up real fast and all was good. And then she was super sweet and loving during lullabies. She reached up and was stroking my forehead and nose with her one little finger, the way they do in “Frozen II.” She wanted me to do it to her too, so we also turned on the lullaby that Anna & Elsa’s mom sings, and we just loved on each other and it was precious. She settled down and quieted down and laid down in her bed, and she fell asleep quickly.

We don’t have too much planned this weekend other than some family time, and I’m looking forward to that!
