Safari Girls & Surprise Plants

Emerson picked out her own dress today – a new one that’s been in her closet now, that she finally fits in 🙂 And I picked Addison’s outfit from a basket of unfolded clean clothes 😉 And coincidentally, they both ended up in outfits with safari animals! Zebras, lions, elephants, & giraffes, oh my!

And when I got to my office this morning, I had a cute little surprise plant waiting for me on my desk! There wasn’t a note, but I knew it was from my friend Heather, who is a serious plant-lady, and has a beautiful back patio full of thriving green plants. And I loved this little surprise plant!

Started this new audio book today. Another book about books, and it’s already got me wanting to re-read some older faves, and read some on the list I haven’t yet read.

If you’ve seen that weirdo lady on TikTok dipping every vegetable under the sun into a pile of cottage cheese & mustard? Well, she influenced me. I’ve always liked cottage cheese, and I’ve been really into mustard lately (what a weird thing to say, but I’ve been loving it), so I wanted to dip some veggies too. Well, it was fine, but not life-changing. But I did love this little fruit and veggie tray I made myself. I also had a turkey sandwich, obvs.

I had to process an emergency release at work, right at the very end of the day, so I got stuck working about 30 minutes late, trying to get it all finished up. So Jeff picked up the girls, and both were excited and surprised to see him.

I just went straight on home, and got started dinner. I made a little turkey-meat-sauce-spaghetti situation, with some garlic bread of course. And this was super delicious. Looking forward to my leftovers already!

Our house has been a super cluttered mess for a few weeks now, either because we’ve been too busy, or I’ve just been too tired. But I finally couldn’t take it anymore, and we started cleaning up tonight after dinner. This was about the mid-way point, so it was even worse than this… But the girls were actually pretty helpful, and between the four of us, we got it tidied up relatively quickly. (The dining room and kitchen are still a mess, but one thing at a time for now, ya know…)

Daddy was swinging her around and she was giggling like crazy.

Finally got the girls into their nightgowns, and settled down to watch an episode of their little shows before bedtime.

Sister loves before going their separate ways for their bedtime routines.

I just want a chill out the rest of the night, and not do anything but watch tv, and inevitably fall asleep on the couch… Night friends!
