Purple Latte

Today all the daycare kids were supposed to wear red at Growing Room, so Emerson decided to wear red too. And then Jeff and I also ended up wearing red today as well!

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about skimping this summer on the budget (due to extra expenses for summer camp), and not getting a fancy Frother’s Daughter coffee when she’s parked at my office every single Thursday. Well, my moms super sweet best friend, whom we actually refer to as Aunt Jane, slipped me a little bit of coffee cash, specifically for coffee truck Thursdays, which was the sweetest little treat 🙂

So of course I was super excited to stop by this morning when I got to the office, specifically for the Speak Now purple latte, in honor of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) release week! It was an ube latte with mocha and caramel, and this was my first time ever having ube before, but this was soooo good!

I even got to meet up with my sissy to get our coffee’s together! It was a nice treat chatting with her for just a few minutes, getting our special drinks to start the day. I just love her so much!

Would you look at this beautiful and delicious turkey sandwich!? I added half an avocado, and my homemade pickled red onion, plus provolone on toasted sourdough, and wow. So good. I ended up stuffing in more avocado, and then eating the rest of it with just salt and pepper. Yum! And so pretty with those purple & green colors.

Addie is so silly, playing with her little friends at school today!

Grammy picked up Emerson from camp today, and took her to gymnastics. And of course she was so impressed with how amazing she was!

They picked up Grandmommie from their house after, and then we all met up at daycare after work. We also happened to run into Uncle Bo picking up the triplets, so course Emmie had to get all up in their car to get each of them loves.

I made some baked chicken patties (the buns were strangely moldy already, even though I just got them this past weekend? so no sandwiches), with rice and green beans for dinner.

Then Jeff ran to CVS to pick up some prescriptions and some band-aids (you can never have enough with toddlers), and the girls helped me clean this half of the dining room. It was littered with toys and little girl clothes they had stripped off and left scattered. We also still had Easter baskets & eggs (in April) and decorations from Addie’s birthday party (in May) all piled up on the keyboard, so clearly we had lots of stuff to put away. And since I found a few Easter eggs full of Skittles, I used those as treats/bribes and gave the girls one skittle after each thing they picked up / put away. And it worked! (Also Grammy, wanna come back and help me with that succulent puzzle that’s been in progress since February!?)

We watched an episode of Bluey all snuggled together on the couch, and then of course Jeff rocked Addison to sleep, while I did Emerson’s routine with her.

Since things were feeling much more neat and tidy around the house, it felt like a great night to light my favorite candle, which I’m stingy with, and like to save for “special occasions.” 🙂

I already washed up a good chunk of the days’ dishes and cups and mugs earlier. So now I’m just gonna sit down and unwind and relax, and enjoy some quiet time, which I’m in desperate need of tonight, after a super busy, stressful work day, and a lot of noise around the house tonight.
