Moccasins

So we bought these cute, little glittery moccasins quite a while ago. They were the one & only pair at Ross, so even though they weren’t her size then, we went ahead and bought them because we loved them so much. Then we just had to wait until the day she finally grew into them, which ended up coming just in time for fall, which I think is the perfect season for moccasins. And of course, she loves shoes, and she loves these ones!

Once we got inside, she quickly exchanged her bag of Cheerios for a chocolate chip muffin.

I had another delicious bowl of leftover chili for lunch at work today. I didn’t feel like reading again, so I watched Hulu on my phone. (I may be in a bit of a reading slump right now?)

A few photos from Emerson’s teacher…

Right before I got to daycare, my friend Allie sent me this photo of her daughter and Emmie together. Apparently Emmie had run over there from the playground and said, “sweaty, sweaty!”

Emerson was still out there running around the playground like a crazy woman when I got there to pick her up, and of course she was going back and forth to the water fountain. And so of course the entire front of her dress was soaking wet, from collar to hem!

Then she carried the crate over to the other fountain, so she could get water out of it too.

There is a book fair in the lobby again this week at school. And while y’all know I love books, I dread book fair week, because it’s always so difficult to get in and out of school everyday while trying to convince Emerson we can’t just take them with us! I bargained with her today, and said I didn’t bring any money inside (which was true), but that Grammy was picking her up from school tomorrow, so she could ask Grammy about buying a new book 😉

Then we headed up to the church tonight, to do auditions for solos and ensembles for the Singing Christmas Tree. We got there early, so we just walked up and down the hallways for about 10 minutes, killing time. And then Daddy showed up, and she was so cute and excited running to him!

Daddy then held Emmie while I auditioned first, and then we switched. She was confused why we weren’t taking her to her usual class though, and was asking to play with toys, so we went over to play for just a few minutes.

I was blessed with a free sandwich in my Chick-fil-A app today (praise! 🙌🏼) so we headed over there for dinner. Emmie was asking for cheese noodles anyway, so it worked out perfect. I typically order either the spicy sandwich or nuggets, but this original sammy was so good!

Emerson ate almost all of her chicken, and at least half of her mac & cheese so once the (rude and obnoxious) big kids finally left, we let Emmie play for a while in the CFA playground. She was having a blast, but it was getting late, and she got super upset when we had to force her to leave. So then she cried in the car off & on for most of the ride home…

But eventually she was fine, and a happy camper once we got home. She loves to feed Pretzel, so we always joke about how it’s her “chore,” even though she’s only two.

I needed a quick potty break before getting her ready for bed, so she followed me in, and decided she needed to copy-cat me! She pulled down her bloomers and (borrowed-because-she-ran-out-of-diapers-at-school) pull-up, and just plopped down! She didn’t go, but she was super cute sitting there practicing. Or pretending.

She had specifically requested to wear dino jammies tonight, so of course that’s what she got! Plus milk & Cheerios for her bedtime snack.

She was surprisingly easy to get down tonight, and praise the Lord for that. I was just all of a sudden feeling very tired and crabby at her bedtime, so I specifically prayed we could have an easy bedtime, and luckily all went well! Now, time to rest a bit, and probably go to bed a little early tonight.
