Feeding the Deer

This cutie little baby just looks so much like a tiny adult to me in this outfit for some reason. At home, I actually gave her the choice of either these shoes, or her new moccasins, and obviously she chose these new shoes that Grammy got her! And she was excited about them!

She thought the muffin smelled delicious…

Today’s lunch was leftover veggie lo mein Nana brought over the other day with the Publix fried chicken, and another episode on Hulu. I just can’t seem to find motivation to read this week!?

I know all my NFC alumni remember selling World’s Finest chocolate covered almonds every year… That was the best fundraiser, right? Especially since the box came wrapped in a coupon for a FREE Chick-fil-A sandwich. That was such a deal!! Nowadays, my coworkers sell the individual WF chocolate bars for their kids, and it makes a great afternoon snack. She was all out of the bars with almonds (my fave), so I told her I’d go ahead and get one today, and she needed to bring me an almond one tomorrow 😉

Looks like a good day at school!

Grammy picked up Emerson after school today, and I drove allllll the way out to their house when I got off work. It took about 45 minutes, which is only about 5 minutes less than it usually takes me to go to daycare first, and then home. So all-in-all, it wasn’t too bad, although it certainly felt like it was taking forever to get out to the back of Killearn Lakes, with all that traffic on Thomasville Road. But it gave me plenty of time to listen to the new audio book I started, after I abandoned my last one.

Emerson helped Papa put out some corn in their front yard for the neighborhood deer…

And we had dinner with them! Jeff is actually at his annual work conference in Clearwater, through Friday, so we’re being taken care of while he’s gone. In fact, look at his view at dinner tonight, and his fried grouper po’boy!

Mama made Crock-Pot Swiss steak, with rice and green beans, and it was delicious! And she made me a plate of leftovers to take to work tomorrow, so it’s a double win. Oh and also, Grammy got Emerson two books at the book fair at school today 😉 This porcupine book is the one she wantsd yesterday.

She looked like such a big girl, just sitting there on her stool!

We played outside for just a few minutes…

And then came inside for bath time…

Followed by Little Bite mini muffins that Grammy got special for her.

When we walked out on the front porch to leave, we saw three or four small deer in the yard right across the street. She wanted them to come eat the corn ber & Papa put out, so she kept yelling “come on deers!” and waving her little arm at them. It was adorable! She then chit-chatted with me in the car, for the entire 30-minute drive home. I thought she might fall asleep, but nope!

Once we got home, we did a video chat with Daddy for a few minutes, before starting our usual bedtime routine. She was slightly confused about where he was, but luckily the phone call helped.

She called Pretzel back to her room, because she to share a few of her Cheerios with him. She is so sweet!

She went down easy as pie tonight – after a big, fun night, she was exhausted! I miss my hubby while he’s gone, but some alone time every now and then is good too. So now I’ve lit a yummy pumpkin candle, and I get to just snuggle up on the couch and watch my shows and rest!
