Bunnies & Veggies

We had a really good drop-off today, and this girl was just happy and sweet and excited for the day.

And after a 16-day quarantine, the triplets were finally back at school today! Meg said they were upset at drop-off, because of course they’d rather be at home with their parents, but I know my Emmie was super excited to see them again!

And then Emerson had a good day at school herself!

I had the leftovers from last night, and honestly they were even better today, after sitting in the fridge overnight.

Late this afternoon, I saw a friend of mine post a meme on Facebook about today being “National Men Make Dinner Day,” and I decided that sounded like a great holiday to celebrate. Tonight’s planned meal was going to be simple anyways, so I “let” Jeff takeover in the kitchen, while I sat on the couch resting, and directing from afar 😉 Emerson played her in castle while he cooked, so just got to chill by myself!

We had turkey, mashed potatoes, and fresh steamed broccoli, and it all turned out delicious. Emerson especially loved the turkey tonight, and we ended up having to get her a second serving!

She decided however that she didn’t like the broccoli stems, and only wanted to eat the tops, but she really went to town on those too! She was nibbling on them like a little tiny bunny, so I told her exactly that, that she looked like a little baby bunny nibbling on vegetables. We talked about the scene in the live-action Peter Rabbit where the bunnies all go in the garden and steal all the vegetables, and how much bunnies love vegetables.

I took care of Emerson’s bath time tonight, while Jeff put away the leftovers and washed up some dishes. She decided to take a short bath, so that we would have enough time to watch the bunnies in the Peter rabbit movie, before bedtime.

So she grabbed her tiny stuffed bunny from Papa, and picked out a little dessert snap, and we cuddled on the couch and watched about 10 or 15 minutes of Peter rabbit. She was very intrigued, and decided she wants to start over from the beginning again tomorrow morning so she can see the vegetable garden part again.

at bedtime, she was pretending to be a little ballerina, to match her little ballerina-like socks, and of course it was super cute.

She was super sweet and lovey and giving me all the hugs and kisses at bedtime, and just wanted all the snuggles for lullabies.

She has started lately singing along to the lullabies with me, and she gets about half of the words right. One of our songs is “Baby Mine” by Alison Krauss, which one line of it says, “You’re not much goodness knows.” So she sings that line along with me, and then says “I’m much!” And I said, “Yes, baby girl, you are much, you are almost too much! But I love you very much!”
