Sunset Lantern Walk

I was nervous the time change would mean Emerson waking up at 5am, but we got lucky, and she slept until 7:15, which was basically like 8:15 with the extra hour, and so all the people’s were happy. 😊

It was only 40-ish degrees again this morning, so we got Emmie dressed for church in all the layers, including a new dress & new boots, and hand-me-down tights.

There were birds chirping, so this is her waving and saying “Hi, birdies!”

She was super excited to church, so she was running down the sidewalk to her Sunday school class. And then she tripped and fell two seconds after this, but a quick hug & kiss from Mommy and she was good to go again!

Church was great today, even though my voice was so raspy I couldn’t sing in the choir this morning. But that meant I got to sit in the congregation with my friend Abby, so that was nice too. After church, we had a Walmart grocery order to pick up, Emmie was being so cute & silly while we waited for them to bring it out.

Then we ran inside just to grab chicken & sides the the deli bar, to take home for lunch.

When we got home, we ate our lunch together, and then my sleepy girl was ready for her nap. While she slept, we washed our sheets and the just sat on the couch with snacks and Netflix. After Emmie woke up, we all changed clothes (we had on our soft nap clothes), and loaded up. She’s still loving this kitty cat water bottle we found a few weeks ago, and she drinks the most water out it, so it keeps getting reused & recycled 😉

And we went down to Southwood to join in the Tinkergarten Fall Lantern Walk, and it was beautiful and so cute and fun. My friend Emily from church leads a local Tinkergarten class, but they’re usually during the weekday so we can’t go, but we were so glad to join tonight! (And Nana met us there too!)

Emmie’s little friends from church… And Emmie is just the tiniest little girl! The two on the left are 4 years old, and the middle one is almost three, but Emmie is still just so tiny!

And then all the little ones spent about 30 minutes playing and having a blast on the playground!

We made a quick stop at the Southwood McDonald’s for dinner

She loved the little tea light candle from the lantern walk, and wanted to hold it the whole ride home.

We got her in her puppy jammies and she wanted some Cheerio’s for a snack, then she grabbed Rosie the Unicorn for bedtime stories.

After the time change, and the fun-filled afternoon, she was exhausted, and it was super easy to get her down for bed. Praise the Lord! Jeff and I are both exhausted now too. Time for hot tea and more Netflix, before getting back into our work-week tomorrow morning.
