Sleeping in the Car

Addie slept a little better last night than the night before, but Jeff and I both still spent some time holding her through the night, instead of her sleeping in her bed the whole night. And little peanut was tired and fell asleep on the way to school! She actually falls asleep in the car almost every time we drive somewhere, no matter how close or far we’re driving…

But we still had a good morning and a good, easy drop-off.

She crawled herself right over and pulled herself up on the table, to play with this little baby fidget spinner her teacher had suctioned to the table. It was so cute!

This was actually when I got to school after work to pick up the girls – I got Emerson first (as always) and then when we went into Addison’s room, they had loaded up her and her friends in the bye-bye-buggy and they were about to go for a ride, and she was so happy to look up and see us walk in the room!

And then she fell asleep in the car on the ride back home again.

Emerson helped me in the kitchen tonight, as I made a pan of cornbread again for the second night in a row…

And the cornbread went so perfectly with this low-carb bean-less turkey sweet potato chili. I’ve made this lots of times over the past year, and it’s definitely one of my “new favorites” now.

We had kind of a rough dinner, with Addie screaming through most of it, and Emmie not wanting to eat the chili just because she didn’t feel like it… But we all got over it, and we were able to all settle down. Addison drank her bottle, and I gave in and let Emerson pick a snack. But she actually chose baby carrots for her snack, so I was proud of her for that, and let her get cookies after that for dessert 🙂

Bedtime went pretty smooth for both baby girls, and I was able to get the kitchen cleaned up and the leftovers put away. (Super excited to eat these leftovers for lunch tomorrow.) Jeff is working on laundry, and I think we’re going to watch the new episode of Home Town on Discovery+ while folding too many neglected loads of clean clothes…
