September Sunshine

Sunlight in the fall is seriously gorgeous. Whether it’s bright and shiny first thing in the morning at sunrise, or in the late afternoon when it’s golden and dusky, you should pay more attention to September Sunshine, because it’s simply beautiful. (I had been hoping to get a photo of the afternoon sunlight, but it got weird and gray and cloudy, so I’ll look for that sunshine another day.)

This sweet little romper girl was adorable this morning, even if I couldn’t keep her from the muffins again this morning… 😉

I got started on another new library book on my lunch break today (book #10 in the series), and had planned to eat delicious leftover’s from last night’s dinner. BUT my Bureau Chief cooked a Boston Butt in the Crock-Pot in our office today, then shredded it and added some BBQ sauce, and provided some little dinner rolls to go with it. So I saved my leftovers for tomorrow (because, free food!), and added some of my desk-drawer snacks to my BBQ slider.

And I may or may not have gone back to make a second one before my lunch break was over…

I also talked with more people last night and today about Enneagram stuff. Some olllddd friends that I haven’t chatted with in years even came out of the woodwork and messaged me about it on Instagram (you can follow me @halierenee88), and it was just so fun! It seems I also convinced a few more people to take the test and find out their Type, and so that’s been fun when they message me to tell me their type, and I’m like, “oh yeah, I can totally see that you’re a 7!” or whatever their situation was…

Here’s the only photo we got from her teachers today…

When I got to school to pick up Tater Tot today, she was running around on the playground again, like a crazy girl! She was so hot, her face beet red, sweaty, curly hair, and the entire front of her romper was soaking wet! She was loving the water fountain, but doesn’t quite have the hang of it, she she just shoves her face right in and it runs all down the front of her!

I finally convinced her to leave school, and we were both glad to get home (I had a busy day at work, using a lot of brain power for complicated/convoluted situations). I love when we get near our house, she somehow knows, and she’ll start talking about being home, and then when we pull in the driveway, she always shouts “HOME!” I love it. I love that she knows her home, and is excited to come here every evening. It’s exactly how I feel too, baby girl!

Snacks & milk on the couch, in between running back and forth to the kitchen…

(She made me feed her the Cheetos, because she doesn’t like getting her hands messy.)

My new/old Fleetwood Mac record came in yesterday, but I didn’t open it until late last night. I was itching to listen to it though, so I put it on as soon as we got home, and listened to it before and during dinner tonight. I love it!

Anyways, after two new recipes two days in a row, I reverted back to one of my mindless meals, of chicken patty sammies with a couple of sides. These things are cheap & easy, and make more than enough for lunch the next day. And the nostalgia factor takes me back to elementary & middle school days, eating similar sammiches for lunch at school. Plus, I actually really like them!

Emerson ate the half sandwich I cut up for, two helpings of pasta, and the helped me eat my second sandwich.

Oh, and a second, random record was in the package. I didn’t order this one, so I don’t know why it was sent to me, but I think it looks like a good one we’ll enjoy!

After dinner, our hot, sweaty baby mess badly needed a bath, so we went straight there. She couldn’t decide what she wanted to wear to bed, she kept saying no to every option I showed her. But we finally settled on some puppy pants, and she was very excited about them!

For bedtime reading, she wanted to read the Snow Puppies again, and she said, “Grammy read last night.” She’s so smart, for real!

This precious little girl has started saying her own prayers at dinner and bedtime, and even though it’s mostly “Jesus, mumble mumble mumble family mumble food mumble, amen!” it’s still incredibly sweet and adorable. She’s learning though!

She was really sweet and perfect for lullabies and letting me lay her down.  I cleaned up the kitchen and put away leftovers, and quickly finished up this post, because my brain is spent, and my body is tired, and I just want to veg out for a while before bedtime!
