Emmie actually slept in a little bit today, until about 6:45am. Once Jeff got her dressed, he wrapped her up in my super soft blanket, and she watched a video on my bed, while I got dressed and she waited her turn to brush her teeth.
We took our daily photos inside at school, since it was so cold, and she was saying hi to this little bunny painted on the wall.
Also please notice, the last little bit of a Belvita cookie in her hand. I think she ate almost the whole package in the car on the way to school, but she was hanging on to that last bit for dear life!
To continue the distribution of our homegrown, organic Florida citrus, I brought a large basket to my office today, and set it out in the common area for people to help themselves. And of course, they were all gone by the end of the day.
I had a random hodge-podge of leftovers for my lunch today, and read more of “Little Women.” My Mama told me last night she wants to see it, so we decided to go together, if she can wait for me to finish the book. So now I’ve got even more motivation to read more & finish it up! I checked with Megan to see if she wants to go with us, but she’s not sure yet. I think I can convince her though, and I think she’ll like it.
But it looks like Emerson had another great day at school! When I asked her what she did at school today, she said “I playyyeed, and I did art. Messy art!”
And since it’s Growing Room’s 10th Birthday/Anniversary, they had mini cupcakes for afternoon snack. Look how precious this girl is!
So last night, Jeff and I made some popcorn for our Mandalorian-watching snack time. The tin bucket was still on the coffee table, and when we got home, Emmie saw it and asked what it was. When we told her we had popcorn last night, she was very insistent that she needed some too. We tried to convince her to wait until after dinner, but that was a no-go, so why not have a popcorn appetizer!? She loved sitting with Daddy waiting for it to pop.
And yes, we have a collectible Avengers popcorn tub from the movie theater. That’s just the kind of nerds we are in this house 😉
But then she wanted in a baggie, to take in the car…
I didn’t put in my Walmart grocery order over the weekend, so I did it this morning, and we planned to pick it up tonight on the way home, but the only available pick-up time was 7-8pm. I was hoping for a 6-7pm, so I could get the groceries first, and then cook dinner at home. But since that didn’t work out, we just all met at home after work, and got in one car together. Emmie wanted tacos again (and Jeff and I didn’t mind that option), so we ate dinner out at Taco Bell.
She ate her entire cheese roll-up, and her chips, and then I gave her more-than-half of my taco, sans lettuce, because she didn’t like the lettuce.
We stopped into Ross to look for some cereal containers, Emmie tested out some benches, and we also found a giant thing of tea on sale for super cheap, plus some puppy breakfast snacks for Tater Tot.
We finally got our grocery order, even though they were missing a few things and we got substituted for a few things, we got enough for a few upcoming meals I’ve got planned.
And then we had to get this dinosaur-loving-baby read for bedtime! She picked out her own jammies tonight, and her own books, and we settled in to do our usual routine. She was trying to stall and do all sorts of hoopla, so we had to be pretty firm in order to get her to finally settle down.
We were going to try this new tea flavor from the package we got at Ross tonight, until we realized it didn’t say caffeine free, and I am NOT going to risk staying up all night, from drinking caffeinated tea too late at night! So we both switched to different flavors, and we’ll have to wait for another day to try these new teas.
I’ve actually had a headache most of the day, and even though I’ve tried a couple of different medicines, throughout the day, it still hasn’t gone away. So now I’m feeling just blah and ugh, but hopefully I can sleep it off, and once I wake up tomorrow I’ll be feeling better.
