Heirloom Rooms

Emerson did PJ day on Wednesday, and now on Friday was PJ day for Addison! Such cuties, ready for a fun day at their schools.

Loved the beautiful sunrise skies at daycare drop-off. Everything started off very pink, and within just a few minutes, it was so orange!

The trippies wanted their old teacher to join us for picture time this morning 🙂

Jeff sent me the following, from their conversation this morning, while talking about police cars and Sheriff’s SUV’s: “I made handcuffs before. But I could get out of them cause it was just a scrunchie. I would just twist my wrists (like this). We were playing Cops and Roberts.”

My bureau chief brought in a giant crock pot of spicy dill pickle boiled peanuts to share today. Boiled peanuts are one of my favorite snacks, and I always love when she does this for us.

Looks like Addison had a fun day at school, with her friends in all their jammies!

If you’ve been reading my blog since the beginning, you might remember how much I love Erin & Ben Napier from HGTV’s show Home Town. I literally started this blog back in 2018 because her old blog (called “Make Something Good Today”) inspired me to start writing again, and documenting the “good” stuff of every day. Then she wrote a book also titled “Make Something Good Today,” which I loved so much. (Bought the hardback and read it once, then listened to the audio book version as well.) When I decided to start this blog, I titled that post the same thing.

Well this past week, she published her second book, “Heirloom Rooms,” which is “a gorgeously illustrated and one-of-a-kind celebration of the homes we live in and love.” I treated myself to this beautiful book, and I’m so looking forward to digging into it.

Tonight was our typical pizza Friday night, with some of our favorite pizza. That Motor City pizza is some of the best frozen pizza we’ve found, and the girls love the super simple Totino’s cheese pizza.

It was so nice outside tonight. Emerson ate three pieces of pizza, Addison ate about two bites of pizza. But then they played and explored together all over the backyard, while Jeff and I just sat at the table talking about our days and telling work stories.

Emmie and I spent a little time working on our unicorn puzzle together, and Addie loved watching and holding the tiny pieces. Then both girls had a snack and watched a little bit of a movie. Emerson wanted cuddle times, but Addison was asleep within just a few minutes.

It was a very easy, very chill Friday night, and for that I was very thankful, because work has been crazy the last couple of days, and my brain is tired! I also got a flu shot at the flu clinic in my building today, so I’m tired and ready for some rest tonight.
