Salami Roses

We went back to Generations Church again this morning, because Bo was preaching and we wanted to hear him preach. It also turned out that Megan on was on their praise team today, so we got to hear her sing too.

Poor little Addison really wasn’t feeling well (snotty, coughing, and fussy), so Jeff kept her at home.

But church this morning was great, and it was so great to hear Meg sing, and hear Bo preach. He actually used the story of their infertility and the miracle birth of the triplets as part of his sermon, so of course we (my parents were there too), all cried though most of the morning. But I was so very proud of both of them, and so glad we were able to be there this morning!

We all went to Dreamland after church for lunch, and Jeff and Addie came to meet us there too.

We got Emmie down for a super short nap (really wish it would have lasted longer), and Addie only slept a little bit too. But Ryan and Emerson helped me undecorate the tree this afternoon, finally. But first, here are the new ornaments we got this year, either purchased or gifted.

We had a little bit more playtime together, while Jeff and the boys worked on laundry and packing and getting them ready to head back home to their mom’s house tomorrow.

She stole one of my crackers and sucked all the salt off of it, and tried to gum it for a few minutes, before I took it from her so she wouldn’t choke herself.

I made myself a jar of iced coffee, and then we loaded up and headed over to Jeff’s parents’ house for a “snack supper” of heavy hors d’ourvres.

Nana made the first salami rose, and then I made the second two, and I was really proud of mine! The rest of the “charcuterie plate” looked really pretty too, and I was proud of how it turned out! We also had buffalo chicken dip, bbq lil smokies, and marinara meatballs.

This little baby played all afternoon and skipped nap, then just wilted into Daddy and finally fell asleep like this. So pitiful and precious! After I took a quick picture, he rearranged her and made her more comfy, and she slept there for about 45 minutes.

After dinner, we played some more – this is Emerson standing on some bowls from her play kitchen, telling me that she was being a statue…

And then she curled up with me for a little bit to watch the second half-ish of “Matilda.” She’s never watched it before, but she got really into it tonight, and ended up really liking it.

Because of Emerson’s super short nap today, she was very sensitive and grumpy all afternoon/evening, so she had kind of a rough night. Bedtime wasn’t too bad though, and she went down without too much of a fight.

Addie took another bottle and fell asleep, but she only lasted about 20 minutes in her crib, before she was awake and crying. She really hasn’t felt too great for the past few days, and although the urgent care doctor said she was “probably just teething,” I really don’t think that’s all it is. So we’re heading to our regular pediatrician’s office in the morning, to get someone we know and like to check her out… Praying we can get her back down soon, and that she can get some rest, so that I can get some rest too!

The boys have most of their stuff all packed up now, then Dave will come tomorrow and they’ll load it all up in his truck, and Jeff and him and the boys will all go together, to meet their mom halfway between here, and where she lives in South Carolina. It’s been a good 10 days with them, and Emmie asked so many times, “How come they can’t stay here forever?” It’s so sweet, she loves them so much, and they’ve been so good with both girls, and big helpers around the house. We’ll be ready to see them again when they come for spring break!
