Sharing Scones

I didn’t share any of the gifts I got for Jeff for his birthday, but here’s one of them. This new Star Wars Tervis! When we got married five and a half years ago, we both picked out a nice Tervis with some of our gift card money at Bed, Bath & Beyond. My pretty pink frangipani cup is still in perfect condition, but his old Spiderman one was cracked or something, because it was getting stained & retaining some liquid in between the double wall. So anyways, I surprised him with a new one! I knew he’d love the theme, but also the lime green lid. He has a thing for lime green. (I also got him a new wallet, and a shirt that’s black & says “nerd” in lime green.)

Hubby’s Birthday

Today’s teacher appreciation week theme was “lovin’ from the oven,” so I got up super early, to start baking a loaf of bread. I mixed it up last night to rest overnight, and got it in the pan to rise for one hour, around 5:30am, then went back to bed for a bit, and put it in the oven at 6:30. For my own breakfast, I heated up a couple of the egg muffins and a slice of the bread from Sunday. Then I got to take Emerson’s teachers fresh baked bread, still warm from the oven!

Adulting

My baby girl was being super clingy at school this morning. Normally, she’s ready to get down and start playing, but today she just buried her face in my chest, and wouldn’t let go. Ms. Q came over to scoop her up, and she did alright with that, although she was still trying to reach for me a little bit. But she quickly perked up, and showed Ms. Q the shoes she picked out herself this morning (she’s already way too opinionated on such matters to fight her over it), and then they walked over to look out the side door, so I could sneak out quietly.

Camels & Cake

Felt super cool this morning making Pioneer Woman’s recipe for “individual sausage casseroles.” Which really just means sausage, egg & cheese muffins, with bell peppers. But they were so easy, and so good, and they were a hit with our Sunday school class. I will definitely make these again sometime, maybe for church or maybe just for us. But be warned, the recipe says it makes 18 muffins, but I clearly had 24! (We have just a few leftover, which will be so yummy warmed up in the toaster oven before work this week.)

Triplets & Popsicles

When Emerson decided she needed to wake up early today at 6:30am, her and I cuddled in our bed for another 10 or 15 minutes, with her sweetly, and quietly, snuggled up resting her head on my cheek. Once she started getting a little restless, she lifted her head and gave me a kiss on the lips, but kiss on the nose, and kiss on the cheek, which I took as her signal that she was ready to wake up. She’s just so sweet!

But since I haven’t really grocery shopped in the last 2 weeks, we were out of most of our staples. So we decided to run to Taco Bell to grab breakfast and bring it back home. Emerson 8 almost an entire bacon egg and cheese breakfast taco, plus half of a hash brown. And then still asked for gummies after we left the table.
