We had the most chill day today, recovering from our whirlwind road trip – I certainly did not do any labor on this Labor Day. Jeff and the girls picked up Donut Kingdom for breakfast in their jammies, and they were so good. (Look closely at the back of Addie’s head, to see her cute little bedhead.)

I love making homemade oatmeal for breakfast, with lots of brown sugar and butter mixed in, and then topped with a splash of milk and one more pat of butter. This is how my Grandmother used to always make oatmeal for Megan and I growing up, and so making like this as an adult always makes me nostalgic for that. It’s so delicious.

Well thankfully, what could have been disastrous for us here in Tally, ended up being very chill and no big deal, not at our house at least. The worst of the wind & rain came by early in the morning while it was still dark, and didn’t bother us at all. We were constantly monitoring the weather though, and watching out the back window.
