My little Tater Tot looked super adorable for school today, and had a great drop-off this morning too!

Baby girl was very happy to wear her dino dress from her birthday party today, and she actually did pretty decent at drop-off. She cried a little when she had to let go of me, but shortly after, she got to love and hug Aunt Meggie & Uncle Bo and the babies, and walk them down to their classroom!

Emerson had a mid-morning dental appointment this morning, so we had a slow morning at home before-hand, watching Frozen II and eating donuts we grabbed yesterday.

I felt fancy and made homemade apple cinnamon oatmeal for breakfast. I loved it and thought it was delicious, but Emerson didn’t so much. So she just ate a plain peeled and sliced apple, in “her casserole” from Nana’s house. 😊

Tater Tot woke up around 6am, ready to get going for the day, so we headed to the living room to cuddle on the couch and watch Frozen II. She sat still with me for a while (and I dozed on & off), then she grabbed her lunch box can filter full of snacks, and proceeded to eat a granola bar. I was mostly awake for the second half of the movie, and actually cried a little bit towards the end of the movie, so I was all emotional and worked up crying over a movie at 8:00 a.m. like a crazy person!

(This is the post for Friday, 10/9.)
I decided to snap a few pictures before getting in the car to head to school, before she got upset about mommy leaving her. She was adorable in this new dress!

(This should have been the post for Thursday, 10/8. I wrote the whole thing that might, but wasn’t able to upload photos into the post. So here we go now!)
Well, we did not have a good drop-off today, and both Emmie and Mommy were crying when I left. Ms. Renee was holding her, and they were gonna watch for the triplets to get there, but as I turned to leave, through sobs she said, “Will you come back for me later, Mommy?” And as I said, “Of course I will baby, I promise,” I started crying then. (Typing it now makes me tear up again, it was so pitiful.)
But by the time Megan & Bo and the babies got there about 15 minutes later, Meg said Emmie was in much better spirits, and greeted them at the door to help get the girls to class!
For lunch today, I prepped a ton of veggies, grabbed a fresh pita from home, and brought the last bits of our Sahara leftovers. I used all that to make a super yummy chicken pita, and I dipped the veggies in the hummus, and everything was so good!
When Meg & Bo got there again at the end of the day, Emmie’s class was about to head out to the playground (which she’s still not supposed to okay on for another week), so she was kind of upset about that. So instead, Ms. Renee let Emmie help get everyone out to the can, and Emmie got to see their “magic doors,” which just close with the touch of a button 😆
From her report, it looked like she had a good day. You can see her doing some painting there for arts and crafts time, and when I picked her up after work, she came out to me wearing this, which she said was her “fire jacket!”
And since she was such a sad girl this morning and I didn’t get good pics of her dress, I snapped a few at the end of the day, because it was new and so cute and she was happy!
While I worked on getting dinner ready at home, Jeff happened to find this old hat of his, so Emerson wanted to wear it around the house for a few minutes.
Once I got the chicken fajitas in the oven to bake, I came and snuggled with her on the couch for a few minutes. She leaned in to give me a hug and kept sniffing the front of my dress. I asked her “What do I smell like?” And she said, “Mmmmm, like Mommy and fruit vegetables!”
After after my friend from church Kathryn brought us chicken oven fajitas a couple weeks ago, I decided I want to try it myself. I looked up a few recipes, and figured they were all about the same, so then I kind of just winged it on my own. they turned out good, but honestly not quite as good as Kathryn’s so apparently I’m going to need to get her exact recipe! And yes I’m still using her dish, since we haven’t been back to church to give it to her yet 😉
After dinner, Jeff was working on rearranging his computer and desk, so he would have more space to continue working from home. He was drilling some holes in the walls to run some cables, and Emerson didn’t like the noise, so we grabbed her tablet and headphones and headed back to her room to play back there for a while.
We didn’t have long there before bedtime, so we got her in her jammies, and she meant to pick it up bedtime snack, and of course chose another bag of Cheetos. She only ate about half the bag tonight, and asked to save the rest for the morning, so I guess she’s having cheetahs for her pre-breakfast appetizer snack before school tomorrow, haha. 😊
She did good with bad time and didn’t put up too much of a fight, although she did try to call me in there about 10 minutes after I had laid her down, to tell me she wasn’t sleep and she needed one more lullaby. I gave her lots of kisses and rubbed her back, and told her she was fine, and she did just roll back over and quiet down.
Since we ate off paper plates and used plastic forks, really dishes we had were the ones I cooked in. I had rinsed those out earlier, so they’re at least rinsed and just sitting in the sink, and I’ll deal with them later… Maybe… Or maybe just tomorrow.
For now, I’m going to eat my little dessert snack, that I stole from my uncle Keith. He posted last week about making this, and I tried it myself, and added a couple things. It’s basically like individual little pumpkin pie sandwiches! spread pumpkin and whipped cream on graham crackers, add a few shakes of cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice, and put in the freezer for a little while, then eat! And they’re super yummy!
Today was pajama day at school, and they had little “breast cancer awareness month” parties this afternoon with pink lemonade and cookies. So we chose to wear pink jammies specifically, for breast cancer pink. (Since I haven’t mentioned it on here recently, and just in case you don’t know, both my Mama and Aunt Suzanne are breast cancer survivors, so it means a lot in our family!)
