Jeff’s parents took care of the boys for us today. Ryan & Gabe spent the morning with PopPop, and the afternoon with Nana. PopPop took them to Crawfordville and saw the old car graveyard. They thought it was super cool. They also talked Nana into icees and a trip to wander around Walmart.

First, for those wondering, I did end up going to bed early last night, around 8:30pm. I didn’t fall asleep right away, but it was still nice to at least be snuggled up all cozy in the bed.
Emerson had a good day at school today, but I know she missed seeing her Aunt Meggie a few times during the day, since they are on their way to Ireland!

Emmie loves her Pepaw. (She also loves that he gives her donut holes, which she’s tightly clutching in that tiny fist.)

So this Saturday started out with the boys practically begging for donuts, so after they twisted our arms, we gave in. Daddy drove them to Donut Kingdom, and they brought back a dozen, and a bag of donut holes. Also, you can see Emmie was still loving her stuffed Doxie doggie.

As I walked into Emerson’s class this morning at school, her teacher from her old room was in there, and Emmie was so excited to see her! She reached for her to give her a hug, and it was adorable. Moments like that make it a little bit easier to leave my girl every day.

Today on my lunch break, I ran home super fast to throw some good stuff in the Crock-Pot. Then tonight for dinner, we had the most delicious meal! I didn’t make up this recipe myself, but I do make it all the time, and we love it around here. It’s the easiest thing ever, and comes out perfect every single time. I’ve made this for guests, and everyone is always impressed. I’ve also shared the recipe with co-workers, and then they’ve raved about how much they liked it too. In case you’re interested, here’s what you need to know…
Recipe:
Throw chicken in pot, top with the liquids, then top with the seasonings. Turn on low for 6 hours, or high for 4. Shred with forks, put back in liquid, leave on warm for 10 minutes. Eat & enjoy!

Of course the skies opened up right as it was time to leave work this afternoon. It was absolutely flooding, and there was a 4-foot wide river flowing down the street in front our building. The bottom half of my body was drenched, and my sandals were completely soaked and squishy.

Well today started out in pure chaos! Wcome to Monday with five people in the house, right?! Emmie woke up super early again, around 4:45, but luckily she soothed herself back to sleep after a bit. Fast forward to roughly 7am while the boys are getting ready for summer camp, and Gabe realizes he left his tennis shoes in his mom’s car, in South Carolina. And that caused a major meltdown, and a minor fight between the two boys, and some yelling from Daddy.(Just being honest here, folks!)

Today was a great Sunday, y’all! The morning started off with an early morning wake-up from our baby girl around 5:30am. Normally, she sleeps until we wake her up around 7am, so I’m not sure why she woke up so early. I finally got her to take a nap with me in the recliner for an hour, and I loved these snuggles, since they’re so super rare at her current very busy stage.
