Happy Friday! I treated myself today and ordered a sammich (turkey with veggie cheese spread, tomatoes & cucumbers) from one of my favorite places (Goodies), and read my book at the picnic table for my lunch break! It was warm & breezy, but comfortable in the shade. I’m about halfway through this book, and it’s so good! I’ll post about it more when I finish.

For lunch today, I went with some work friends to Canopy Road Cafe. Yum! Their food is always delicious, and they did not disappoint today. It was the first time Tammy & Heather had been there, and they both really liked it. We all left stuffed to the gills. I couldn’t even finish my whole meal! …
On our little family trip to Trader Joe’s last Friday night, I picked up a jar of their “Everything But The Bagel Sesame Seasoning,” because I’ve heard so so many good things about it. I’ve been trying it out on random things since then (buttered toast, scrambled eggs, egg-in-the-hole, potatoes) but this morning, I tried it on the most-suggested option: avocado toast. And it was delicious!! (I’m now out of avocado & bread, but will definitely stock up again over the weekend.)

So y’all know how much I LOVE reading, right?! Even with a little baby around now, I try to sneak in as much reading time as possible when I’m not with her. And y’all I’m like, absurdly excited for this new book I’m reading now! I checked it out from the library a while ago, but just got around to starting it yesterday. I’m about 100 pages in so far (out of 369), and it’s just so good already. It’s called The Darkling Bride, and it’s brand new. Literally, it just came out in April.

Today was just one of those “regular” days, where nothing really special or out of the ordinary happens. It wasn’t a bad day, but it was just ya know, regular. So I don’t have much to report today. But because I did so well blogging every day since I started daily journals on May 1st, I couldn’t just skip today!

Look at this sweet, precious baby, with her cute little morning hair floof!! These jammies & Ellie were her Christmas gift from Aunt Megan & Uncle Bo, and she wore them for the first time last night! I don’t mind so much getting up early, when I get to play with & love on my sweet Emerson!

All morning and afternoon, we got to be at home, spending quality time with our baby girl. Luckily, we’ve kept the house clean all week after working so hard last weekend, so we didng even have a bunch of chores to do. So we just got to hang out and play with baby Emerson!

We went on a little family adventure tonight to McAlister’s for dinner, and Trader Joe’s for some random groceries. As she gets older, it’s becoming more fun to do even these regular things together, as a little family of three. Emerson always smiles at strangers and makes friends with everyone, and I feel so proud when people just gush over her!

Ok first of all, it’s caprese salad season again! It’s a super simple “recipe” of grape tomatoes (which I always halve), mozzarella cheese balls, fresh basil (my fave!), balsamic vinegar and S&P, and I’m obsessed with this stuff in the summertime! I made some last night, and when I was doing a quick quality control taste test, I had to force myself not to just eat the whole thing! But I took it to work to have for lunch, along with a salad, and a leftover piece of pizza. Sooo good! I once again had to force myself to stop eating it, so I could save half for tomorrow.
