Tater Tot was acting super clingy this morning, and would NOT let me put her down. She wouldn’t even let me get a good picture of her dress. Ms. Q had to come over and just peel her off of me, and took her straight to the cabinet to see what she could share with her 😉

Emmie wanted a roll for her pre-breakfast appetizer today. When I handed it to her, she said, “Nana’s house!” Because she remembered that Nana gave us these leftover rolls the last time we were at her house! What a memory!

Today is my baby girl’s second birthday! As cliche as this sounds, I can’t believe it’s finally happened, or how fast these past two years have gone. It’s crazy! For a special treat, we left home early and took her to get donuts (her favorite breakfast, thanks to Papa), for her special day!

Emerson requested cereal again for breakfast today, and it’s so easy so of course I said yes. She ate breakfast wearing only her diaper, so we didn’t mess up her church dress.

Today we all had milk & cereal in bowls at the table, rather than from a plastic bag in the car. And she loved it! She had three little girl size bowls.

We got up bright and early today, when the alarm went off at 7am. Lately, Emmie has been waking up on her own anytime between 6:15-6:45. But, she had a doctor’s appointment for her eye this morning, so of course since we had to be up early, today was the one day in forever that she actually slept in. I had texted my friend Abby last night (Emmie’s pediatrician) with photos saying I thought it was worse, and she responding saying she wanted to see her in person today.

Started a new audio book on the way to school today, My Kitchen Year. This is my third book this year by this author, and I’m just loving all of them! She has been a restaurant critic for the New York Times and editor of Gourmet Magazine, and she’s also written 10 books. Most of her recipes are a bit too much for me (I mean they sound delicious, but are a bit above my skill & ingredient level), but I love listening to her talk about food!

It seemed only fitting to wear this new outfit today, after Emerson’s obsession with her inflatable flamingo over the weekend. We’ve actually had this outfit for a few months (Garanimals brand, from Walmart), but it was too big for her at 12-month size. And even though it’s still a little too big, she was so excited about the “mingo’s!”
