Pot Roast, Potatoes & Carrots

So we had to update my website/blog last night, and it took forever, and required additional maintenance from my personal IT professional, Jeff. So I took the night off, and planned to just write two posts today. So this first one is Thursday’s update…Emmie and Nana went on another morning nature walk, and collected all sorts of good things to bring back and show me.

Tongue Tattoo

I was off work again today, for one last full day, because we were supposed to go to the cardiologist’s office here in town. But there were a few miscommunications, and long story short – the appointment isn’t until Friday afternoon. So that just meant I got to spend one more day at home, doing nothing but being with my girl! We started off the morning with some “cunch cunch.”

Letters & Flashcards

This morning, Emerson woke up asking to do the letter book. At first, I didn’t even know what she meant, but then she said the letter book from Ms. Q, and I remembered this letter tracing book Ms. Q got her. She has such a great memory! Also, she was surprisingly good at this, for never trying to write letters like this before! I was super impressed!

Jax Skyline River Walk

We had an extremely slow, lazy day, and barring a few traumatic experiences with bandages and medicines, it was pretty nice not to have to do anything or go anywhere. Emmie slept until around 7:45am, and then she got to open up a few more presents from some more of her favorite teachers from school. These were from Ms. Bridgett and Ms. Julia!

Successful Open-Heart Surgery

Since we’ve posted a couple of times on Facebook throughout the day, most of you know the details by now. I’m of course still going to write today’s blog post though, although it’s certainly going to be difficult…

Perfect little angel baby, sleeping before we woke her up super early this morning. She had to have a bath in special anti antibacterial soap first thing this morning, and we had to be at the hospital at 6:30, so we had a very early wake-up call.

Museum & Mediterranean

All of you guys have spoiled this little girl (with help from us too, obviously), because she’s going to get to open at least one present a day the entire two weeks we’re here! Today, she got a backpack full of dresses, a pack of panties, and a new baby doll. Thank you, Mrs. Linda T. for the sweet gift!

Goodie Basket

Megan decided they would start coming to school a little earlier again this week, so that we could all see each other a few more times before Emmie’s surgery. So we got there first, and I told Emmie I was going to take a few pics of her by herself before they got there, but they were already pulling in, and you can see how excited she was when she recognized their van!

Curry Heaven

So one of our couch pillows busted a month or so ago, and we took it over and asked Grandmommie to fix it last night. (I do not know how to sew.) She did it while we were there & we brought it home. When Emmie saw it on the couch this morning, she literally cheered and was like, “Yay! Soft pillow party!” Then piled them all up around her, for morning cuddle times.
