Samosas & Tomatoes

First thing this morning, Jeff got the girls up and out of the house, before it was even 7am, and took them to breakfast at Woodchucks. Both girls had woken up early, but I was asleep on the couch…

Emerson came and got in bed between Jeff and I last night after a nightmare. Then later when I got up to go to the bathroom, she completely took over my spot, so I left her snoozing, and went to the couch. So that’s why Jeff took the girls out for breakfast, while I got to sleep in all by myself, which was such a rare treat. And they had a nice little breakfast, and brought some home for me too 🙂

Once they got back home, all four of us got dressed, and went out to run a bunch of errands. We took an Amazon return to UPS, we did a return at CVS, we did a return at Walmart, and picked up our Walmart grocery order.

Then we brought our groceries home, and headed to the downtown market. We actually tried to go to the Frenchtown market first, but it looks like it was closed due to road construction. But we had a nice time at the downtown market, getting some fresh produce, and Indian samosas for a snack.

The girls fell in love with this huge dog, a gentle giant named Skyler that was so sweet and perfect and patient with the girls.

I fixed the girls both some lunch, and then got Addie down for a nap. I tried to get Emmie to nap too, but she wasn’t really feeling it. I started listening to a new audio book (I like a random celebrity memoir, even if I’ve never been super into the celeb) and washing all the dishes and cleaning up the kitchen, while Jeff was outside doing some work on his car.

There were obviously tons of amazing looking fruits and veggies, but we just one cantaloupe at Emerson’s request, a couple of tomatoes, and a jar of homemade blueberry jelly that just sounded so summery.

I got the cantaloupe all cut up and in the fridge for a little bit, while the girls and I got dressed in our “baby soups” to head outside to our little backyard pool.

Nana came by to hang out while we were still in the pool, and she got this picture of Emmie standing on my lower back / rear end… and if I look like I’m grimacing, it’s because her tiny little toes were really digging into me super hard!

After we got out of the pool, Nana took Emerson on a quick shopping trip. She had already gotten the girls a couple things each on clearance (like the dress Addie’s wearing in the pics below), but Emmie’s didn’t fit great, so they ran out together to try to exchange. Jeff was still outside working, so Addie and I had a little bit of time together, and she was so sweet and precious the whole time.

Nana and Emmie brought home Culver’s for dinner for the five of us. Jeff washed his hands about four times trying to get the car grease off, and then joined us inside to eat, before going back out to work some more.

And Nana stayed over to help me with bedtime, since Jeff was still outside working.

Emmie was quick and easy to get to sleep, but Addie needed to be held and cuddled extra long tonight, so that’s why I’m getting this posted so late… gotta go take off my very chipped nail polish, but I don’t have time tonight to repaint, so maybe I’ll get to that tomorrow.
