We started off a busy day with some McDonald’s for breakfast (I found I can order just the sausage, egg & cheese sans biscuit, and eat just that and the hash brown, and my blood sugar is still good), and this girl absolutely destroyed her McGriddle.

It was slightly chilly this morning, and although a light sweater would have been sufficient, Little Miss Priss wanted to choose her own jacket, and she thought she needed this super warm, fluffy pink coat. And then her friend Olivia got to school right as we did, so after getting her jacket zipped up, she ran off to walk inside with her, and left Mommy in the dust! But hey, I’d rather her be excited to go to school with her friends, than upset about me leaving!

Today was supposed to be “wear green” for school today, this little teal-ish romper was as close as we got though. I didn’t know exactly why we were supposed to be wearing green, but Emerson told me this morning it was for Earth Day! Also, she picked out her own socks & shoes today, and we obviously had to have this little denim jacket because it was so chilly this morning.

First thing this morning, Emerson had her bi-annual dentist appointment for her teeth cleaning. She was such a big girl, and did so good! She also had x-rays, and was perfect during that too (the hygienist girl was super impressed with her), and she was cavity-free!

So yesterday, I wasn’t feeling so great. But then today, I woke up and felt like I’d been hit by a ton of bricks. My sinuses are completely messed up and I’ve had the worst sinus pressure headache literally all day. It was supposed to be my turn on praise team at church, but not only could I not sing, I couldn’t even get myself out of bed and dressed for church. So Jeff too Emmie to church, and I stayed home trying to hydrate and rest. I put on a movie in the background hoping it would put me to sleep on the couch, but my head hurt too bad to even sleep.

This morning, all of these wonderfully, sweet ladies threw a beautiful baby shower for Addison and me, and it was all so great! My Mama hosted it her house, and all six of these other ladies worked hard and brought delicious food and put up pretty decorations, and I felt so special and honored!

So after a couple of days break from blogging, I’m finally feeling a little bit like writing. It’s a little later than usual though, so I’ll keep this brief… I’m not going to go back and “catch up” on the two days I missed sharing, but we’ll just do a quick recap, and then pick up with today.
Tuesday, we took Emmie to the doctor with a cough & congestion. Her ears, throat & chest were all fine, and she was negative for flu and covid, but her RSV test came back positive. She had RSV very severe when she was only four months old, but in a 3-year-old, that just means a cold/virus that has to run it’s course on it/s own. So Wednesday & Thursday she spent the day with Grandmommie and Grammy, playing and resting. I’ve been healthy (trying hard not to get her germs) but just been very tired and run down, and even had a sob-fest Tuesday night, over just a few minor things. But things are better tonight, and Emmie is feeling better, and I’m not so mentally drained…

Emerson got really excited when she saw this dandelion when we got out of the car this morning. She couldn’t quite get it to blow away like she wanted, but she looked both hilarious & adorable trying to do it!

So, I actually had to stay home from church (and pretty much everything) today, for some tests the doctor has me doing (and we’ll just leave it at that to avoid TMI, but basically it’s to make sure I’m not developing preeclampsia towards the end of my pregnancy). So after I got Jeff and Emmie ready and out the door, I made myself some fried eggs and a couple pieces of my low-carb Sola bread, and this was super yummy.

Jeff and the boys were up and moving early, and Nana came over to pick them up to drive them back to their mom. Of course Emmie and I were up early too, and after they left, we headed to Walmart for our early morning grocery pick-up. After getting all the things puta way, I made our usual egg sandwiches for breakfast. I finally got a hold of the low-carb Sola bread, and it was good! So I got to have a whole sandwich today, and it felt so special!

When Emerson heard the pouring rain outside first thing this morning, she decided she obviously needed to wear her rain boots today, regardless of the fact that if it was in fact raining, then she would not go outside during the school day. But she’s a very strong-willed girl, so we just roll with her choices sometimes!

We got to do drop-off with the baby girls this morning, and everyone was so sweet and happy and excited…until we got to their classrooms at least 😉
Also, Emmie put more stamps on her arms this morning while I was getting ready, and when I saw her I said, “Oh, Daddy let you do some more stamps, huh?” And she just kinda whispered, “No, Daddy was asleep.” 🙂 Also, so wore some new (hand-me-down) biker shorts under her short dress today, and she loved them, and she looked adorable in them.
Emmie was sad at drop-off, but shortly after, we received a photo of her playing and smiling and happy! And this photo of her with the little chef’s hat just kills me!
Jeff and his mom took the boys to Urban Air for some fun adventure times this afternoon. Then Jeff and the boys picked up Emmie from school just a tiny bit early. They were out on the playground when they got there, so Jeff snapped these photos of her with her besties, and I love them all so much, I couldn’t even narrow them down! (I mean, her and Andrew look like their on a date, so they need to chill out with that, but it’s still so stinking adorable!) These little school pals are the cutest!
And just look at all these bouncy little curls!
They had gotten an icee at Urban Air and shared some with Emmie on the way home, and she was in ice cold sugar heaven.
Nita & Jeff ended up taking the boys out to lunch today, so we used last night’s leftover pork to make BBQ sammies (well, no bread for me) for the fam, since they didn’t end up eating it at lunch. Some corn and greens beans rounded out the meal, and it was yummy. Emerson ate an entire sandwich, her entire corn, and some green beans. And then ate a slider-size sandwich on a Hawaiian roll. The girl went crazy! And all three boys ate two sammies and two baby corns.
She colored all over the walls with her special bath-time crayons for a while, and I sat on the (closed) toilet and read while she entertained herself.
She wanted another Gogurt, but they were all gone – I did however find her a cinnamon applesauce pouch, and she accepted that. She was all excited like, “I love cinnamon & apples!” And then after her first taste, she was like, “WOW! This is yummy!”
Jeff fell asleep in the recliner super early tonight, at like 7:30pm, and then went to bed around 8:30pm. We hadn’t yet done my insulin shot before he went to sleep though, so it looks like I’ll have to do it myself for the first time tonight. So here’s hoping it goes well, and I can be a big girl tonight!
I love this new, cute little spring floral dress Emmie wore today, especially with her jean jacket with it. She’s just the cutest thing ever!

My girl was in a great mood this morning, and we had a super great, very easy drop-off. Her and I were both wearing olive green today, and when Meg sent us photos of the triplets, they were wearing olive green today too!

As I’m sure you can imagine, today was a big, busy, fun day with both side of our family. Full of good food and egg hunts, and even a surprise visitor. Emmie was up before the crack of dawn as usual, and Jeff got picked up by Nana early to go pick up the boys today. So Emmie and I were cuddling on the couch as the sun finally came up. She played some games on her Kindle, and kept her hand on Pretzel over there pretty much the whole time. And then we had our typical egg sammies for breakfast.
