GC Fall Festival 2026

I sang on the worship team this morning, and Jeff ran the words on the production team. So that means since we both went early, both of the girls went with us too. During a break at rehearsal, Addie picked up my dangling in-ear monitors, and thought it was so cool to hear the click-track and the guide voice saying “verse 1,” while they were running a test.

It was raining when we left church, but we ran by Walmart to pick up our grocery order, and then Zaxby’s to pick up some lunch. We brought everything back home, took sister pics on the steps, and then had lunch and a little bit of rest time.

Then Dolly Parton and Ella Langley put their little costumes back on (sans boots because of the rain), and we headed back over to the church for our annual GC Fall Festival. It was sprinkling a little bit off & on, so that kept most of the crowd home, but we had a great time running wild and playing!

We headed out a little early, when we all started “powering down” and grabbed a quick dinner at Panda Express, which was Emerson’s request. So we were eating dinner at like 5:15pm, but on a full-moon-Halloween-time-change-fall-fest weekend, it had to be done.

The girls had a shower when we got home, and I worked on this adorable “harvest feast” puzzle that my mom’s coworker sent for us to borrow. We had a little tv time, and then we were still able to get the girls down to sleep a little bit early tonight.

We’re now at that time of the year where I want a mug of tea pretty much every night. So as soon as the girls were asleep, I put on a big kettle of water for tea. The “Randy Honey” in the old Costco peaches jar is the backyard honey my MIL brought me from their trip to her family’s farm up in West Virginia, and it’s soooo good. And perfect in tea, of course. My mom also gave me this pumpkin spice tea she found at Aldi, and I was excited to try it out, but I realized after the picture that it was black tea and caffeinated, so I switched over to peppermint, and I’ll take the pumpkin to my office to drink during the day instead of at night.

I can’t quite shake this sickness/allergies/cold/cough situation I’ve had going on for the past two weeks, so I’ve finished my tea now, and I’m gonna try to get to bed early tonight for some extra rest.
