Halloween 2026

Today we started off by getting to actually sleep in a tiny bit. Then I made us egg sandwiches for breakfast, and a giant at-home iced latte for me. We watched Harry Potter and I finished up my quick, easy birdie puzzle.

We had to go out and run some errands around town, so we also stopped in at Sonny’s for lunch. They have kids-eat-free on Saturday’s, so that was great. I had a special turkey sandwich off their holiday menu and it was really good, with a sweet potato on the side.

We went back home to do some chores, and mini projects, and a little bit of coloring. I also fell asleep for a bit, and surprisingly, Addison did too.

We packed up all of our things for the night, and went out to Grammy and Papa’s house. We had a quick dinner with the whole fam, then we got all the kids dressed in their costumes to go trick or treating! This year we had Bullseye, Woody & Jesse (bottom row) and Ella Langley, Barbie & Dolly Parton (top row).

We made these cute tiny badges for the girls to help represent their costumes, since they weren’t super obvious. We went for a mostly DIY option this year, but they both turned out super stinking cute!!

Another friend-family from church joined us for the trick or treating, so we added a ninja into the mix as well. And all night, up and down the street, we were constantly counting, 1-2-3-4-5-6-7, trying to keep tabs on all these little people!

Here’s a close-up of Emmie’s little homemade hint badge, with the title of one of Ella’s most popular, famous songs. Addie was having a little grump-fest at this moment, so she wouldn’t let me get a close-up shot of hers, but she said I could at the church festival tomorrow 😉

The weather was a bit warmer and more humid than we would have liked, but we got out and about earlier than usual, so that was nice, and we able to finish early too. We walked around for right at an hour, and got finished up with our route right as it truly started getting dark.

We were glad to be done then, because it gets so much more crowded after dark, and SO hard to keep track of all the tiny kiddos running wild. And we just all had a great time together!
