Flat as a Pancake

I’m realizing now that this picture from this morning was actually a little bit blurry, but that’s just par for the course for how the day went today…

Because my rear left tire was flat as a pancake this morning! It was actually a little low Friday night, but Jeff aired it up using a little air pump thing at his parents house, and we were able to drive it home. Then we drove his car all weekend, and were too busy to deal with mine. So then this morning, it was just flat as a pancake! So we all had to load up in one car for round-robin drop-off’s at school and work.

Addie had requested I pack her a lunch today, for her first time this whole school year, and she looked so cute with her hot pink checkered lunch box. I was trying to get a pic of her, but I ended up just totally blocking out Emmie’s face with that blue bar.

So we took the girls to school first, and then Jeff took me to work. He called around to a few tire shops in town to see who had time to fit us in today, rather than tomorrow… So he came back to pick me up for an early lunch, we ran home to air up the tire again, and then drove both cars to the tire shop to drop mine off. We had a quick lunch, and he took me back to work.

I was back at work for a couple of hours, and had a little bit of afternoon hot tea, and was able to try the new pumpkin spice tea my mom gave me, and it was nice and subtle but very good.

But then I got a message from Emmie’s teacher saying she had a headache and was a bit worried about going to after-care. And then we also got a call saying my car was ready. We had left it there not knowing how long it would take, because they weren’t sure at drop-off if it was going to be able to be repaired or have to be replaced… So we left work early to pick up the girls, and also ran back to the tire shop to get the car. Luckily, it was repairable, and it cost just a mere $37! So praise the Lord for that!

Emmie and I went straight home, but Jeff and Addison took a little trip to Walgreens for some cough syrup, and she was adorable with her tiny little shopping cart.

We were able to just come home and chill out a bit, Emmie read her book for school while we listened to it on audio, and I finished my puzzle. I then repeated last week’s new TikTok recipe, since I still had all the staple ingredients, and just had to add the beef and veggies to this weeks’ grocery order. But tonight, I actually doubled the amount of beef & rice, so that I could have leftovers for a few days for lunch.

Made a cute little video as I placed the last 10-ish pieces of this adorable “Harvest Feast” puzzle. My mom’s coworker gave me this one to borrow, and I loved it! It was very quick and fun, and perfect fall vibes.

Emerson wanted some hot tea tonight, so I joined her in making a cup and we enjoyed that while watching our bedtime show. This Winter Spice tea is her favorite, but it’s only available during the winter. We found this box last year on clearance at Ross, and so we’re hoping to find it again this year, now that it’s almost holiday time.

We made sure to get the girls into bed at a good time again tonight, since we’ve still been struggling a bit with the time change and we have all been super tired. I actually had a hard time falling asleep last night. I tossed and turned in bed for over an hour, then decided to go lay down on the couch, and turned on one of those sleep videos, and fell asleep instantly, and stayed there for the next four hours, until I finally moved back to my bed in the wee hours of the morning. I’m hoping tonight’s sleep is better though, and that I can actually sleep in my own bed tonight!
