This little cuties were tired this morning, and both girls had to be woken up after a big, late night at church last night. But once we got them up & moving, they were okay, and ready for another day!
We saw some beautiful sunlight on our drive to school, peeking out of the clouds.
Addison did absolutely perfect at drop-off this morning, walked right to her teacher, and started waiving bye to me. It was so great!
Emerson was still a little clingy but she was fine eventually and went on her way to school.
Last night, Meg invited me to go out to lunch with her today, so she picked me up from my office, and she chose Olive Garden. She got the soup & salad, and I got a cheese ziti & salad, and we both shared the soup & pasta together. And it was super yummy, and actually a really great lunch deal.
Addie Pie had a great day at school today.
After picking up both girls from school (Gilchrist pickup is getting better and better every day), I made some chicken & onions, with rice and black eyed peas for dinner. And this chicken was absolutely delicious. I make it the same way every time, but I added some different seasoning this time, and was just really good, even though it all just looks like a plate full of brown. 😁
The girls had fun playing and splashing in the bath for a little while, and then Jeff and I each took a girl to get them ready for bed.
And over one month later, Emerson finally received her very last 5th birthday present! I had ordered her this custom rainbow puzzle from Zazzle, that was going to arrive late, I knew that. But then our mail carrier delivered it to the wrong house. We filed an official report with the USPS, but long story short – they made me very mad and were very unhelpful. So I reached out to Zazzle and told them what happened, and they were so great and sent me a new one, for free, overnight!
Anyways, I was so excited to finally give it to her tonight, and she loved it! If you’ll remember, her 5th birthday party theme was rainbows, sunshine & clouds, so this puzzle was just absolutely perfect! (Thanks to my girl Britteny for helping me find this puzzle 🙂 )
We didn’t finish it tonight, but once we do, we’ll glue it all together, and frame it to hang up in her bedroom. And that will be so adorable!
Emerson was SO exhausted tonight, and so her bedtime went super easy peasy.
Addison on the other hand was trying to fight sleep so very hard. She spent about 10 minutes arching her back and screaming at the top of her lungs. But I turned on the ocean waves video, and sang her a lullaby, and by the time she finally stopped fighting, she fell asleep in 30 seconds flat, and was snoring just a few minutes after that.
Jeff is working on folding a ton of laundry, and I’m heading to work on washing a ton of dishes. Glad tomorrow is Friday!
