A Day at the Grandparents’ House

Nana, Jeff and the boys were on the road early this morning (to meet the boys’ mom halfway between here & where they live in South Carolina), the girls and I had waffles for breakfast, and then we spent the entire rest of the day at Grammy & Papa’s house. It was a great day, but a long day, so I’m not gonna write much today.

Anyone know if this is a moth or a butterfly?

These girls both ate SO MUCH at lunch time, after spending a few hours swimming around in the hot sun. And then Emmie napped with Grandmommie, and Addie napped with me, and we had great rainy afternoon naps.

My dad’s employee gave them this giant pan of homemade chicken divan, and it was so delicious, plus a great salad (which I drowned in a little too much thousand island dressing), and mom made fresh corn on the cob too. Super good, and I even scored the leftovers for lunch one day next week.

After nap, Emmie helped Grandmommie ice the homemade bread pudding she made.

We just chilled out and rested and played for a little while after nap, and then mom made breakfast for dinner – sausage, egg & cheese casserole, biscuits, and fruit – and the girls both ate tons of food again for dinner.

Nana dropped Jeff off to us at Grammy’s house when they got back to town after dinner time. Then I gave the girls a bath, and after getting everything packed up, and giving hugs and loves all around, we headed back home for bedtime.

Both girls were tired after a big day, so they both fell asleep very quickly and easily. Jeff is snoring away in the living room, so he’ll probably go to sleep soon. And for that matter, I’ll probably read a little bit, and then fall asleep soon too.
