We’ve been a little under the weather this past weekend, since Addie and I came down with some random cold symptoms starting Friday afternoon/evening. Emmie ended up a little down too, but not too bad. So here’s a quick weekend update of our past three days…
FRIDAY
Dropped off the girls at school like usual.
Then went to try out a new place in town with my work friends for lunch, Hot Birdies. It was really yummy, but a little overpriced for what it was…
We had a little feast of Chinese foods from the Trader Joe’s frozen section, and ate outside, and Emmie put on some dance moves for us.
Then we just hung out in the backyard for a little while, and Addie practiced her walking some more.
Emmie had some ice cream for dessert, and then we got everyone in bed for an early bedtime, myself included.
SATURDAY
This goofball put on her tights & leotard, with her beanie & mittens, and was pretending to go camping on the back patio, at like 8am Saturday morning 😉
We got CFA breakfast, then headed over to Jeff’s parents’ house to let their dogs out, while they were out of town.
Then had a little playtime at home after some afternoon naps. This is the little behind-the-scenes sneak preview of taking her 12-month photos for this coming week!
Quick trip to Walmart for some new summer shorts for Emerson, and a few random things along the way reminded me THIS is why we don’t go in to grocery shop, because we end up picking up too many unplanned things!
Then we got takeout hibachi and sushi from Mizu for dinner, and it was super yummy. And then that was followed by another early bedtime for all three of us girls.
SUNDAY
This breakfast pizza was one of the random things we picked up from Walmart yesterday, but it was actually super good this morning, baked in my little air fryer.
Jeff ended up going to church by himself today, and I stayed home with the girls. None of us had fevers, but there was a lot of coughing and congestion, and we just figured it was best to try to get some rest and recovery. So the girls and I had some time together this morning, in their sweet matching orange dresses.
She got mad at me when she didn’t like any of the lunch options I suggested, so she finally agreed to popcorn after throwing a little fit.
And then she ate PB&J’s with Daddy for her real lunch, and baby sister tried to walk over to get in on the action…
All of us ended up taking late, long naps, various lengths from about 2:30-5:15, when we finally woke Addison up. It was dark and rainy and so quiet, and I even slept for about two hours this afternoon, which is really good for me, since I sometimes have trouble napping.
Then we went back over to Jeff’s parents’ house for dinner with them, since they got back in town late last night. Addie has been walking all over the house this whole weekend, and I’m even willing to say we officially have a little walking girl now at this point! She’s still wobbly, and she still crawls a little, but I’d say for the most part, she’s now walking for the majority of the time.
We stayed for a little while letting the girls play, and then we headed back home. We loaded everyone up on cough meds, and got both girls started on their bedtime routines. They were both pretty tired actually, and went down pretty easily, thank goodness for that. We’re hoping and praying everyone sleeps well through the night, and that we all wake up feeling better in the morning.
