Towel Turban

One more morning drop-off with the baby girls this morning. (Bo has been out of town, so Megan was coming early to drop-off all together since she was by herself, but Bo is back now, so today was our last day of same-time-drop-off’s.)

But we’ve loved getting to see these adorable triplets first thing every morning before school!

I got stuck at work handling a last-minute emergency release of an inmate, so I didn’t leave until 5:30. (I don’t talk about work much on here, but for a quick synopsis, I work at Department of Corrections, and calculate inmate sentences. Today for example, and inmate’s sentence was reduced from 15 years to 6 years, so we had to do a last minute emergency release because it was already past the 6-year mark. Overall, it’s much more complicated than just that, but that’s kinda the gist of it.) Jeff picked up Emerson for me, and I decided not to cook dinner. Instead, I went through the Chubby’s Chicken Fingers drive-through to get dinner for Jeff and I, and Emerson decided she wanted a PB&J instead.

I noticed on my drive home that the days are starting to get longer and the sun is starting to stay out longer. We’re getting closer to spring and daylight savings time, and I for one am looking forward to that. I noticed it again once I got home, and the late afternoon sun was streaming through the windows, casting this beautiful shadow and light on the opposite wall of the dining room. I picked out a record and waited for a few minutes, and then Jeff and Emmie got home.

I asked Emmie if she needed a bath tonight, and her response was, “Yeah, just in case you missed some of the germs the other night.” We said, “Yeah you get new germs every day all the time, so I’m sure you have some more germs by now.” So we did end up doing bath time tonight. While I took care of Tater Tot, Jeff took care of some dishes, and even got a load of laundry started.

I didn’t want her to go to bed on a cold night with a wet head, so we tried out the towel turban for the first time on her. And she thought it was the best, funniest thing! It was hard to keep it on her tiny little head, so it didn’t last long. But maybe I’ll see if I can get her a tiny girl sized one, because I know she would love that.

She loved on her baby and said her baby’s prayers, and then tucked her into bed every so sweetly.

She did alright at bedtime (better than last night at least), and it wasn’t too difficult to get her down for the night. I’ve been blogging on the computer in the front room just like usual, but tonight, I grabbed a giant blanket to wrap around me while in the computer chair. I’m warmer than usual, but still pretty chilly, so now it’s time to go warm up on the couch and chill for a bit before bedtime.
