After a fun week at MSC church camp last week, the girls were ready to go back to East Hill for camp this week.
And at the office today, we celebrated retirement for my Aunt Suzanne! After 36 years working at FDC, she will finally work her last day this coming Friday. Crazy enough, she’s the one that got me my first OPS job there back in 2010, as a recent college grad. We both thought it would be temporary for me, on my way to something different, but almost 16 years later, and on the verge of my fifth promotion (waiting for it to be officially finalized any day now), I’m still here, and it’s all because she got me in the door way back then! But she’s very much looking forward to spending more time with her grandson, Asher, and a new baby girl on the way this fall.

I’m thankful to her for getting me in the door way back then, and thankful I was able to be there with her to celebrate today! Much love to you, Aunt Suzanne!

Tonight’s dinner was one of our recent faves, low-carb cheeseburger soup. My friend Renae shared this recipe with me, and every time I make this, it makes me think about her.

And while the soup was simmering, I also prepped a little jar of simple homemade easy pico de gallo, to have for tomorrow nights’ dinner, because tomorrow night, I’m planning to make those little quesadillas again like last week.

The soup turned out perfect and delicious as always. Emmie and I actually both ate two bowls. I’m happy that the girls both love it, but Addison especially. Any night that she actually eats her whole meal is a huge win!

The girls weren’t necessarily in need of a bath tonight, but Addie’s counselor had done a slick-back pony on her, and used some product in her hair, that had her head looking like a little grease ball. So we went ahead and threw them both into the tub and got them all cleaned up. I was able to get a good start on my puzzle late last night, and so I was happy get some more time to work on it tonight as well. And this has been such a fun one! I actually love the color-blocking, and it’s been fun to just work in sections slowly across the board.

I got all the leftovers put away and prepped my stuff to take a bowl of soup with all the toppings to my office for my lunch tomorrow, with the pico being saved for dinner tomorrow night.

I need to go wash some dishes now, before I’m allowed to go back to my puzzle or finish my Kindle book…
