The Teeniest (Crocheted) Taco

My two cute little girlies this morning, both in cutie little outfits. Addison’s outfit, just happens to be a brand new 3-6mos size, that she still fits in perfectly 😉

We have food trucks that come to our office pretty much every day, but I try to be “good” and I pack my lunch from home almost every day. But today, I didn’t have much to bring, and some of us had pre-planned to try out the Mexican food truck today anyways. We stood outside in the blazing heat, waited 30 minutes for our orders, then came back inside to eat at our desks, in the a/c. (And then I super quickly wrote yesterday’s blog post during the second half of my lunch.) And it was soooo good. I got two sopes, one steak and one pastor, and the pastor was my favorite. I also got some chips & queso, and everything was just really delicious. I’d definitely order food from this truck again!

And coincidentally, my work-friend Jeanne brought me this adorable teeny little crocheted taco during my lunch break today! She actually made one for my other work-friend Heather the other day, and when I showed Emerson a picture on her Facebook, she just fell in love with it and wanted one of her own. So I asked her for one to take home to Emmie, and it’s just so stinking cute! I’m gonna have a hard time giving to Emmie, cuz it looked so cute sitting on my desk all day! 😉

More good pictures of Addie Pie doing fun things at school today…

This is what my car temp said when I got to the school to pick up the girls around 5:30. So stinking HOT.

I’m starting a re-read of one of my favorite fantasy series, with the audio book of #1 in the series. And coincidentally, I’ve been talking with two of my friends this week about this same series, and then library hold finally came through, and I was SO excited because I’ve been waiting for it for a while.

For some reason, I didn’t actually plan out enough dinners for my meal plan this week, but luckily I got home a little earlier than usual, and just so happen to have all the ingredients to make half-recipe of Nana’s chicken & rice recipe. So Emerson helped me get it put together, and threw it in the oven for half an hour. Then Jeff washed some dishes and I played with the girls while the casserole baked.

I threw together some side salads for all of us to go with the casserole, and we decided to do some bread & butter as well. (Which was so nostalgic, because I remember my Mama sitting at the table making us each pieces of bread & butter at dinner the same way.) And everything was super yummy. Emerson and Addison both absolutely loved it, and ate their whole first serving before I even realized it was happening, and they both needed a second helping!

After dinner was pretty much bedtime almost right away, so we got the girls in their jammies (well, just Addie, because Emmie wanted to just sleep in her t-shirt), and then starting winding down for the night. Emmie had some Jell-o, and Addie had some milk, and we worked on our puzzle for a bit.

Then I remembered the cute little taco that I needed to give to Emmie. I went back to the front of the house to get it, and when I got back to her room she already had her hands out and her eyes closed, ready to see the surprise. And she was instantly in love with the teeniest taco, but who wouldn’t be?!

We did eventually get both girls sound asleep, even though it was much later than their “usual” bedtime.

I’ve got some dishes to wash before I can go settle in for the night, and Jeff started washing a load of clothes earlier that will need to go into the dryer soon too. Night, friends!
