Father Daughter Sushi Lunch Date

(I took the night off from blogging last night (Wednesday), so this is the post for Wednesday, 6/15/22, written during the last half of my lunch break on Thursday.)

Meggie and I got to school at the same time for drop-off, even without specifically coordinating our arrivals. And these four cuties are just as adorable as always!

Then I had a delicious and great lunch with my Dad. He even let me pick what I wanted and where I wanted to go, so we tried out a new-to-me place, Rock & Roll Sushi. This shrimp appetizer was super yummy (basically like bang-bang shrimp), and my “Thriller” sushi roll was also really good. However, I will say, it wasn’t my favorite sushi I’ve had in town, and probably wouldn’t be my first choice. It’s also pricey, and I know you can get a better lunch sushi deal from a few other places in town… But, I did like it, and Papa and I had a good time together, so that’s the important part!

After picking up Emerson from her classroom, she had this paper bag piggy puppet she had made, and she said, “I wanna keep this in the car so I can make Addie laugh.” Then we found Addison on the buggy in the hallway, and Emmie immediately put it on and started showing her baby sister. And the sweetness of these two precious girls just warms my heart.

I made some salmon (roasted in the air fryer with some sort of sauce that came on it already, along with diced red onion), jasmine rice & broccoli for dinner. And although Emerson didn’t like the salmon, Addison did!

The girls splished and splashed for a while in the bathtub after dinner, then Jeff got the baby girl ready for bed, while I got the big girl dressed in her nightgown.

We had a snack together (gummy bears), and then a little bit of playtime, and a little bit of puzzle time, and second snack (jello) before starting on our nightly bedtime routine.

She was just laying there, talking about whatever, chatting away while twirling her hair around her fingers, the exact same way I used to do as a kid, that I still do now as an adult.

Addie-Pie tried to stay awake when I was rocking her, but Daddy is just so cuddly and warm that she couldn’t fight it any longer once he took over! Also, please look at her little arm around her little puppy. So sweet.

And then I just took the night off from blogging, because you just need to do that every now and then 🙂
