Addie was very cute this morning, with her tiny denim jacket, and the hair bun and claw clip she requested for school today (even though you can’t see that in the pics), with her current favorite heart-hands pose she always does.

And Emerson woke up feeling SO much better today! Around 9am she was ready to eat some breakfast, so she had a little Activia yogurt with some Cheerios mixed in, and did great with that. She started on a little craft project, and we watched a thrift/design show on Hulu. Her personality was back to almost normal, and it was so good to see her smiling again!

I made myself some delicious avocado toast with another at-home iced latte using my new favorite creamer that I’m already obsessed with.

I set up a little spa day for Emerson with a hot bath, candle and her Kindle on a stool next to her, plus some Key Lime sugar scrub that Nana brought back for us from the keys. While she was just chillin’ in the bath tub, I worked on my cute little tea time puzzle and listened to my audio book. Coincidentally, I was listening to a book where the main character owns a little tea & pastry shop on the boardwalk at the beach, called “Tea Tide,” so that was cute and ironic.

And this cute doggie was cuddling with Emmie’s cute new ducky right next to me.

Emerson requested some white rice for lunch, so we had that, and more of the pork from last night, with the broth poured over to of it. Plus a ton of fresh green onions on mine only. And she loved it. She loved the broth on it and was happy to be eating more real food. She ate a bowl and a half actually!

Her and I spent some time on the computer doing some school work together that her teacher had sent, trying to keep her from getting too far behind. She also helped me with my puzzle a little bit.

She’s had a bit of cabin fever today, and was feeling pretty bored. She was not only ready to go back to school tomorrow, but she was also supposed to go on a field trip tomorrow with her gifted class to the Mariana Caverns… But then unfortunately, it turned into the boomerang stomach bug… and she had four more episodes within four hours 🙁 And now she has to miss not only another day of school, but a field trip too that she had been really looking forward to. (Luckily, Papa has already decided he’ll take her there on a field trip for the two of them, which she’s excited about, but also sad to miss the chance to go with her friends.)
We had had such a good morning, and it felt like she had finally turned the corner, that it really messed her up mentally to seemingly go backwards with her tummy issues. So we cuddled up to watch one of our comfort movies and calm down a little bit.
Jeff picked up Addison for us since we were home-bound, and I worked on dinner. Bacon & Swiss cheese crustless quiche, no-sugar peaches, and a can of biscuits. It was delicious, and Emerson thought her plate and glass were so cute, so grabbed my phone and wanted to take a picture of her plate all on her own 😉 She was able to eat a little bit, but not as much as normal, since her tummy was hurting again.

Nana has been up in Ohio with Jeff’s younger brother’s family for a couple of weeks, so we had a video chat with a few of them tonight after dinner. It’s Nana’s last night there though, and she’ll be flying home tomorrow. Both girls helped me finish up the puzzle, and it turned out so cute! I was proud of myself for finishing it in less than a day, but I did have plenty of free time today with my poor, sick kiddo.

We had a whole meltdown trying to take a sister pic with the puzzle (it’s too banal to explain it), and we also had a water spill, that led to Emmie getting me a tea towel to clean it up, and led to Addie throwing the towel on top of the flame of a real lit candle (which I like, never ever light anymore these days now that I have the lamp melter thing) and it catching on fire. Luckily, I smelled the smoke fast enough to run in there and throw it in the sink (which one side was luckily empty since I had washed some dishes before dinner), and run water on it to put the flames out. GOOD GOLLY!

Then Emerson was just having a rough, sad night mentally and emotionally, and we had to work our way through it, which also included a phone call to Grammy to talk it out. The morning started out good, and then the afternoon and evening really gave us a run for our money. My poor girl is not up to school tomorrow, and definitely not up for an hour-long bus ride and who-knows-how-long in the caves, so she has to stay home again tomorrow. We’ll have to find some more activities to entertain us, to keep her from going crazy at home another day.
Thank you for all your prayers, and for everyone checking on her. She’s still in the thick of it (I’ll be calling the pediatrician again tomorrow to see about a phone consultation at the very least), and we still need more prayers, so please keep ’em comin.
