Sweet Addie Pie headed off to school today, excited to wear her chapel shirt and go to chapel on this Wednesday morning!

And Emerson had another day at home. The morning went really well, with some quiet, chill activities (puzzling, watching “Homeward Bound,” and a little bit of drawing time) until I hopped in the shower. Then Grandmommie came over for a little visit after her morning Bible study at her church, so that was nice to have some company for a while.

Emerson really wanted to try eating a cheeseburger today, so Jeff brought home some McDonald’s for all of us for lunch. She did fine with that, for a little bit, but about an hour after eating, she had her first “episode” of the day. (I’m not blaming it on the burger, I think that was just the timing of things.) By 2pm, I finally made myself my first coffee of the day (another iced latte with the coffee cake oatmilk creamer), but this time in an even larger glass. Then we just kept working on the puzzle together, listening to the audio book of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” on YouTube, to keep up with what her class was listening to. But we accidentally flew way past them, to chapter 21, and they were only listening through chapter 15 today.

I made Emerson take a little late-afternoon nap around 3pm, and then when Gramy came over to visit around 4:30, she went to wake her up. She was so confused and pleasantly surprised to see her, and very happy for another special visitor. We sat chatting and just hanging out, and then I got The Puzzle Master involved in my pastry puzzle, since my Mama is just so good at puzzles!

Jeff picked up Addie from school, and brought dinner home for us. And then Emmie had another episode right before eating dinner tonight. (So, only two episodes today, which is a big improvement over the last few days.) Then he and Addie went up to church since he was serving on the production team for our Wednesday night service. And Addie just didn’t want to miss church, because she likes it, and because she always wants to see her best friend Nora 😉
So Emmie and I ate dinner, and then put on a cute little lo-fi YouTube video on the tv, and ended up finishing our puzzle together, after only a few hours working on it today! This was another one I got from the puzzle swap back in March, and this one was so super cute. I thought it was going to be more difficult than it was, with all the similar colors across the whole thing, but it wasn’t too bad and it was a fun one!

Emerson and I then decluttered the toy baskets underneath the coffee table, by pouring them out and sorting through everything. We had a trash bag for things to get rid of, and a box for things to donate, and then added the things we kept back to the baskets. Then we had a little Nerf war in the living room with the Nerf guns and bullets we found while cleaning. Next up was some chill time reading together on the couch, since we hadn’t actually read at all yet today.

Once Jeff and Addison got home from church, we started on the whole bedtime routine with both girls. Although Emerson has still had stomach pains today, and a few episodes dealing with that in the bathroom, she was much better overall today. I keep hoping every single day is her “on the mend,” but I think she really is finally on the downhill slope of this awful GI bug. Tomorrow is “Take Your Child to Work Day,” so we’re going to try that out, and see how it goes. We’ve prayed hard she has a normal night’s sleep with no issues, and wakes up feeling almost 100% better tomorrow!
