Taqueria Monday

Today was Addison’s first day of school without big sister… But we still had big sister at drop-off 🙂 Grandmother met us there and picked up Emmie, still in her jammies, to go spend a few days at their house with them.

When we were little, Megan and I used to always get dropped off to go to the Grandparents’ house in our jammies, so it’s something of a tradition in our family.

Addie had a great morning drop-off by herself, but it was certainly strange not taking both girls inside, and not going to two classrooms, and not having Emmie “help” me drop off Addie.

And then she had a good day at school, as always…

I took a little break from avocado toast for a while so I wouldn’t get burnt out on it, but I’m back on it again, on an everything bagel no less, and this was super yummy for breakfast.

Emerson had SUCH a great first day with Grandmommie, and did so many fun things. Grandmommie was even so good to take & send all these pictures of their fun times as well!

I picked up just one little girl from school, and took a long way home to pick up a grocery order from Walmart on the way home. We had to sit and wait for about 20 minutes, but baby girl didn’t mind, and just snoozed on through it…

At almost-15-months-old, Addie doesn’t love to swing as much as she once did. She likes to crawl in & out of the seat part when it’s on the floor, so yesterday Jeff dismantled the swing, and we moved Emerson’s food truck back to the living room. Addie noticed it in there for the first time tonight, and she got so excited and just immediately started playing.

I had planned to cook dinner tonight (especially since we got groceries on the way home), but we made a last minute change of plans and went out to my favorite Mexican place, Taqueria Miranda, instead. Emerson doesn’t love Mexican food as much as we do, and ends up complaining whenever we want to eat Mexican. So we figured while she’s having a sleepover with Grammy, Papa & Grandmommie tonight, we’d go out for Mexican. And I was SO glad we made that decision. It was absolutely delicious, and I loved every single bite.

Jeff got a fajita quesadilla, we got Addie a chicken taco & rice, and I had a carnitas sopes (left below), and two al pastor tacos (right below), and everything was sooo good.

Zoom in and look hard, and peep her tiny tooth poking out on the bottom jaw!

We had a little video call with Emmie and my family when we got home, and then started getting Addison ready for bedtime. Jeff picked out this funny little nightgown for her, and she was so funny and so cute.

Jeff’s been rocking her to sleep while I’ve been writing this post, and then we’re going to work on cleaning up the kitchen, which is just cluttered with all sorts of junk from a busy weekend, and the remaining not-cold grocery items that didn’t get put away earlier… It’s very strange not having Emmie in our home, but I hope she’s having such a great, special sleepover tonight!
