Strawberry Day

The most beautiful little strawberry shortcake girl there ever was!

She was so sweet this morning, and had such a easy peasy drop-off, even without big sissy with us.

When we walked into her classroom, she went straight over to a book, and brought it to her teacher to read to her.

And Addie had a good day at school, as always.

And Emmie had such a great day with Grandmommie again today! Papa also came home early so he could take her for a quick swim before coming home again.

Once I had both girls after work, we went on home and I made breakfast for dinner – French toast sticks, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, and (coincidentally, matching Addie’s outfit) diced strawberries. We love having breakfast for dinner, but this was the first time I’ve made these French toast sticks, and they were so good!

Emerson has actually had breakfast food for 4 meals over the last 2 days, but luckily, breakfast foods are one of her favorite things. I said something to her about it tonight, and her response was, “I wish I could live in a unicorn land and eat breakfast for dinner every night and sleep in my room with a unicorn.”

Both syrup-covered girls had fun getting cleaned up in the bath together after dinner, and then dressed in fresh jammies (Grandmommie washed Emmie’s new ones so they would be clean again already), and then played in Addie’s room for a while. Tomorrow is pajama day at school, and she’s getting too tall for most of her footie jammies, so we pulled out some of Emmie’s old “big girl” jammies, and Addie just looked so cute in them!

We did a little marching girl parade from the back all the way up to the front of the house, and both little girls decided they wanted to climb up and cuddle with Daddy for a bit.

Then we took on our usual rolls – Jeff rocked Addie to sleep, while I read Matilda and Emmie colored, and got both girls ready for sleep.

I desperately need to repaint my fingernails, so I’ve decided I’m going to do that tonight instead of washing dishes 😉
