Pudding & Potatoes & Pajamas

Today was Pajama Day at school for Addison, and she looked so stinking precious in these “big girl jammies,” that are of course some of Emerson’s hand-me-downs. (Most of Addie’s clothes are Emmie’s old clothes. She just had so many, and most are still in such great shape!)

And Aunt Suzanne met us at school, for her day to take care of Emerson!

We got a few pictures of Addison from school…

And Emerson had such a great day, doing so many great, fun things with Aunt Suzanne!

After poptarts and a trip to the park, they made a fun banana pudding dessert.

They went out to Chick-fil-A for lunch, and ended up running into Emmie’s bestie Elly, with her grandma, so they got to eat lunch next to each other, and then play in the CFA play-place for a bit together. Such great timing!

Unfortunately, Addison wasn’t feeling so hot today… We got a call from school about mid-morning, saying she had a temperature of 100, and we had to come pick her up. So Jeff ran out to school to get her, and took care of her for a couple of hours. She was definitely not her usual self, and was a little quiet and puny.

Jeff pulled her shirt up like this to help cool her off while he was rocking her, and she fell asleep like that. Such a sweet, pitiful baby girl.

I took off work at 1pm to come home and take care of her for the afternoon, but Jeff had already gotten her down for her nap right before I got home. So I decided to use my extra unexpected hours being productive. I washed the dishes from last night that I left in favor of painting my nails.

And then I worked in Emerson’s room, cleaning out her drawers and packing up all the things that were too small for her. Most of the stuff is being saved for Addison, but I had a small bag of stuff I took to my friend Britteny for her daughter Elly, and another small bag that was too small for Elly, that we’ll donate to Goodwill later this weekend. (These drawers were absolutely bursting before today, and we didn’t even have everything clean & folded yet.)

Addison ended up napping for a little over two hours. She hadn’t eaten lunch before she fell asleep though, so around 3pm I fixed her a super late lunch of yellow rice, cheese & more apple sauce. She ate really well, and I got her to drink some water, and we gave her some Tylenol. Not sure if she’s teething, or if she has a little cold or something, but really her only symptom is the slight fever.

She wanted to just sit and cuddle with mommy for about 10 minutes after her lunch (please notice her sweet little hand on my hand), so we watched a little bit of tv together. But then she slid out of my lap and went off to play! She has been kinda back and forth like that, most of the day, between acting fine and acting a little down, but for the most part she’s been doing pretty good.

Late this afternoon I drove over to pick up Emerson from Aunt Suzanne’s house (and drop off that bag of clothes with Britteny), and then came back home to cook some dinner. I made sausage & potatoes with peppers & onions, and some lima beans on the side. Very simple, but very yummy.

Emerson ate dinner with this GC Kids water bottle hanging off of her wrist for most of the meal, and wanted me to take a picture and send it to Uncle Bo & Aunt Meggie.

After dinner, we played in Addie’s room for a bit, and then Jeff got her ready for bed, in which she fell asleep in just a few quick minutes after drinking her bottle. Emmie and I worked in her closet to take down all the old dresses that are too small. We packed up some in a box for the future, and moved some on hangers straight to Addie’s closet, for her to grow into in the next year or so. Jeff was able to lay Addison down really easily, and after a minor meltdown from Emerson about a hanger she couldn’t quite manage, she was so tired and fell asleep really easily, just later than usual.
