Park & Painting & Pandas

Since Addie had a fever yesterday and couldn’t return to school today, and Nana was already scheduled to take care of Emmie today, she volunteered to keep both girls for us. So since I didn’t have to go to daycare first, I decided to treat myself to Chick-fil-A breakfast on the way to the office. Their chicken breakfast burrito is so good, and I had to get an iced coffee to go with my home coffee, because I couldn’t fall asleep until 1am last night, and was absolutely exhausted this morning.

I switched cars with Nana at my office so she could have both car seats, and they spent the whole day together. They went to Tom Brown Park first thing before the heat got out of control, and then spent the rest of the day hanging out at our house.

Addison apparently found this pair of Emerson’s old panda slippers that I had set aside yesterday, and became obsessed with them this afternoon.

I came home to find out I had won this book in a Goodreads giveaway (well, I probably knew already I had won it, but I had forgotten), and received it in the mail today. I’ve been excited about this one this summer, so I’m excited to own a copy now!

Emerson had been dying to go to Urban Air today, so she convinced Nana to take her tonight after I got home. So they headed off to one more adventure, with a stop at CFA for dinner on the way.

Jeff and I decided to go back to that Thai restaurant we stumbled upon a month or so ago. We each ended up ordering the exact same dishes we got the first time, but we also added an order of crab rangoon too. And goodness gracious, everything was just as delicious as before. Honestly, as much as I loved my own spicy cashew chicken, Jeff’s chicken noodle bowl was even better. His was the best for sure.

We then decided to go poke around Trader Joe’s for a little bit, mainly to get our favorite Unexpected Cheddar cheese, which we haven’t gotten in a while. But of course we ended up finding all sorts of things we wanted to try, so we picked up a bunch of random stuff like chai concentrate & mini chicken tacos & gochujang paste & more… It really was a splurge for us eating out for two weeknights this week, but it was a nice change, and fun, easy-going date nights, with just one easy-going baby girl.

The sky looked beautiful tonight from the back porch, when I stepped out to let Pretzel outside!

Jeff worked on getting Addison calmed down for bedtime (she really put up quite a fight tonight), and Emerson and I wen through our usual routine.

Nana very sweetly washed up last night’s dishes for me today, so I’m glad I don’t have to deal with that tonight. Today was my Friday at work, because I’m off today to take care of both girls tomorrow (daycare is closed for teacher planning day), and we’ve got lots of things planned, starting with Trader Joe’s hash browns for breakfast!
