Pollo Santa Fe

First off, Emerson had some calls to make. Ms. Kristen told me yesterday she was pretending to call Uncle Bo, and I said that would be an expensive, long-distance phone call, since he’s currently in Israel!

And then she was watching her friends be silly, and decided she needed to go join them too!

I finished this audiobook on my way to work this morning, and it was really good. I did have a few issues with feeling like we needed some additional backstory on the main character of “the huntress,” but other than that it was really good. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

And here are some of the photos from her teachers.

After picking up Emerson from school, we met Jeff and his parents at Pepper’s for dinner. A young couple that used to attend Dave and Nita’s Church, but moved away for school and jobs around seven years ago, were back in town for the weekend, so they came to dinner tonight as well, and it was really good to see them!

I found a bag of gummy bears that Mrs Q had snack in Emerson school bag, so after she ate a really good dinner (she shared my Pollo Santa Fe {grilled chicken with sauteed mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, & mozzarella – this was my first time ordering it & it was SO good} and rice, and had plenty of chips) I let her eat the gummy bears for dessert!

We let her play and twirl and be silly for a few minutes out front, before loading back up in the car, because she did really well and sat in her high chair for all but the last five or 10 minutes of our meal.

Oh and since I finished that other audiobook this morning, I started a new one after work – Daisy Jones & The Six. This is another one of those super hot titles right now, and it seems like everyone and their mother in the book world is talking about it. It’s an oral history of a fictional band in the ’70s, told from articles & interviews with the band members and people close to them. The audio version has at least 8 to 10 different narrators, which so far is actually working pretty well, even though I’m not that far into it yet. So far I’ve heard people either love this book or hate it, but the majority love it. So I guess I’ll see where I fall on that spectrum in another few days, since it’s relatively short, clocking in at under 9 hours.

After dinner, we had some of our usual play time at home in the living room, with her chairs, animals, stickers, and whatever other toys we could find.

Plus, more sweet kisses for my boo boo. This little girl is just the most sensitive, caring little munchkin!

Jeff is going on a little day long mission trip with our church tomorrow, so Emerson and I have some loose plans to hang out with Megan and the triplets and Grammy. Not exactly sure what we’re doing yet but it’ll be nice to have a little girl’s day! For tonight, we’re starting the movie “Downsizing,” and then try to get to bed at a decent hour, since toddlers wake up at the crack of dawn. Happy Friday night friends!
