These sweet little girls went to a special Father’s Day breakfast at church with their Daddy before service today. But Jeff didn’t take any pictures of the breakfast…
Then we had a big giant family lunch for Papa at 4Rivers after church, but my fingers were covered in bbq sauce from the ribs for the majority of the lunch, so I didn’t get any photos there. Just this one of Emmie and Papa at the very end! But Addie was too grumpy and didn’t want to take a photo. Oh well, these two were very happy!

And we also forgot to do the Father’s Day photo booth area at church this morning, so we finally got one of Jeff and the girls once we got back home.

This afternoon, we left Jeff and Addison at home to rest, while Emerson and I ran errands around town. We dropped off a load of donations at the thrift store, and went in to look around for a bit and found Emmie a few clothing pieces. We also went to Publix to pick up prescriptions, and then 7Brew for the Father’s Day “brew-zie” to bring home for Jeff. Then we spent 40 minutes sitting in the Walmart parking lot, waiting for them to bring out our grocery order because they were very busy, but also very slow.
We did finally make it home at almost 5pm, and had to wake up Jeff from his nap, although Addie never actually fell asleep. And then I put him right to work on Father’s Day! We had ordered more L-brackets in our Walmart order, to anchor the shelf to the wall on top, in three or four different places. This bad boy is very tall and very heavy, and we didn’t want to take any chances of it falling over. But now, it’s super solid, and we should have no issues.

Addison literally begged me to let her Swiffer the floor, so obviously I’m not gonna turn down free labor!

Everyone pitched in to put the books on the shelves once it was time. I had so many un-shelved books, plus some that were doubled up on another shelf that we relocated here. And I was actually a little surprised that it filled up so fast. 🤣 In fact, this little meme I found yesterday is very fitting for this whole situation…

I got those wicker shelves on the bottom at IKEA a few weeks ago, and thought we’d “need” them as filler until we had more books to add. And although I like the way they look, I think we’ll have to move them off for more book space, sooner rather than later… A couple of years ago, I remember writing in my blog post one night that I wanted to have my own personal library one day, with like, 1,000 books. And honestly at this point, this now feels like my own personal library! I’m totally obsessed with this new shelf, and still just can’t believe we only paid $50 for it.

There is currently no rhyme or reason or alphabetization happening here, but I’ve considered trying to do that. I don’t know… I’ve never had my bookshelves organized, and it’s never bothered me, so for now, I’m just gonna leave things the way they are, but keep marinating on some sort of organization in the future… But I love it!

I want to try to thrift or find a tiny little table-top lamp on FB Marketplace to put on the top of the heart shelf now, since there’s no room for that tall floor lamp with this setup. I’ve actually messaged a few people on FB already, so maybe I’ll be able to snag one this week.
Anyways, we worked on this too long, and it got kinda late, so we just ran out to Culver’s for a quick dinner. We all got kids meals (I ordered broccoli with my cheeseburger; still trying to make low-carb choices as much as I can), but we skipped the free kids’ ice cream since it was so late. We saved the little coupons though, so we’ll have to go back for just ice cream one night later this week maybe. We put on our nightgowns and watched one episode of PB&J Otter when we got home, and the girls were very sleepy and ready for bed.
