Very first thing this morning (we had to be there at 7:40am), I took Emerson to the pediatrician for her annual well check-up. She passed all the vision, hearing, and scoliosis screenings, is still growing right on her own tiny growth chart, and everything looked great!

Jeff took Addison to East Hill while we were still at the doctor’s office, and he said she did great going inside by herself, even without big sister by her side.

After the appointment, Emerson picked out this gigantic pre-packaged Mexican pastry from the gas station for her breakfast. It was a like an iced sweet bun, and it was legitimately the size of her entire head!

She ate about 1/3 of her giant bun, and then saved the rest in her lunchbox for later… I dropped her off at camp, and then took myself to LabCorp for some blood work. The Governor’s Square CHP location gets a 10/10 for for a very quick wait time, but a 2/10 for the actual blood draw. My arm is super sore and tender, and already bruising up.
Had lunch today with my two favorite ladies at Hopkins, where we had yummy salads (forgot about the whole germy lettuce thing!) and lots of convos to catch up on.

Before we left the house early this morning, I threw together our dinner into the crockpot for a “new-to-us” recipe. This is the chicken version of the viral Mississippi pot roast, and it was so easy and so delicious. It’s just a pack of ranch seasoning, a pack of au jus seasoning, a lot of garlic powder and onion powder, plus S&P, a stick of butter, a few pepperoncini’s and their juice. Then shred when you get home, and this was SO flavorful and rich and super yummy.

This new one is definitely in my new go-to rotation. Jeff and Emmie both loved it, and Addie just loved the green beans, but I did force her to eat a few bites of chicken anyways, even if she claimed she was full. But she ate probably 20 of this giant green beans!

Already looking forward to eating these leftovers at work for a few days too.

And please pray for us as we attempt to get Addison to sleep in her own bed again tonight, instead of smushed in between me and Jeff every night in our bed 🤣 Also accepting all tips & tricks, superstitions, sleep experts, and anything else that might be helpful. We’ve literally re-started this whole process like 10 times over the past couple of years!

We had a whole conversation about it before hand to hype her up, reminding her she’s about to start big girl school, and she’s been at big girl summer camp, and she just went to big girl church the other day, and went to big girl Mega Sports Camp, and so obviously she’s a big girl and can sleep in her own big girl bed! Trying to convince her it’s a good idea, but she’s pretty adamantly against it. So yeah, please say a prayer for her and for us!
