The day started out bright and sunny and beautiful!

And I had the day off work! I dropped my girls off, and then met my Mama at Jeri’s for breakfast. We were there right when they opened, and had the place to ourselves. I had a delicious bacon, egg & cheese on a baguette, with herbed mayo. And wow, it really was so yummy. I also had their honey Dutch latte, which was also very good.

Then Mama and I spent some time at Dollar Tree and Publix, then went out to her house to do some crafts. After a couple of hours, we picked up all four big girls early from school and headed to the cancer center. We had organized almost 30 friends and family (plus 4-6 more on FaceTime while they were out of town!) to come with signs, flowers, balloons, snacks and even a Polar Pop because the girl loves a fountain Coke! It was a surprise for her very last day of chemo, and the ringing of the bell to signify it was all done. She was definitely surprised and emotional, and she wasn’t the only one shedding tears. It was amazing to have all these people who love her so much out there celebrating with her today!

She has been so incredibly strong these past six months, and I could not be more proud of her. She’s tough, resilient, and just the most incredible woman. And now, she can add SURVIVOR to her list of amazing descriptors. 🩷🩷

After we sent Meggie home to sleep the rest of the day, Emerson and I had ourselves a little afternoon together. We went to Wawa nearby for some snacks and drinks first – banana bread iced coffee for me, and a pina colada smoothie for her.

Then we went way out on the east side of town to visit a few Little Free Library’s we’ve never been to before, and they were very cute.

And then some time just taking it easy at the east-side library for a bit too.

We picked up Addie eventually late this afternoon, and then headed on home. I had put food in the crockpot this morning for our dinner tonight. It was a new recipe for French onion chicken, but then I decided to pop it under the broiler to melt some provolone cheese on top. Add a carton of pre-made mashed potatoes, and a bag of steamed green beans (topped with spray butter, garlic salt & parm), and dinner was ready!

The girls played “burrito shop” in a giant blankie, and took my burrito order about 5 times, while I worked on this puzzle after dinner.

Then I got the girls ready for bed, and we read another Little Golden Book, this time about Princess Leia from Star Wars.

Meanwhile, Jeff was working on our cooktop again. The first one he ordered was too big. So he re-measured, and re-ordered, and the second one was too small. They’re just not made the way they were back in 2003, the last time it was updated, so the sizing is weird. And there was not another option in-between what he’d already tried. So instead, he kinda over-engineered some brackets underneath and a little strip of wood on the left side, in order to make it fit right. And now we finally have a cooktop installed! I haven’t actually tested it yet, and I don’t think he did either, so we’ll see what happens with that!

Oh, and I gotta figure out what the difference is from my old “regular” cooktop, to this new one which is an induction cooktop. Whatever that means…
Currently watching last nights’ Survivor episode, and about to re-do my fingernails. Gonna use my little sticker/nail wraps though, since it’s so late and those are fast and easy and don’t require multiple coats or any dry time.
