Leather Bookmark

We have now entered into the last week of school! Today, Emerson had water day, complete with a picnic lunch and free Kona Ice! Addison just had a regular day though, but she still had a good day.

Had to bring myself some coffee in a mason jar for this afternoon’s pick-me-up. I left the jar about half full of cold coffee & creamer, and then added a bunch of ice from the ice machine in the break room for my 3pm 15-minute break. I rarely actually take these breaks, but when I’m reading a physical library book, I try to do that, so I can make sure to finish it in the allotted time-span. Just started this one today, but I know I’m gonna love it already. I’m about 50 pages in, and it’s good already. Plus, I just love everything this author writes!

And look at this beautiful leather bookmark my parents got me from Scotsman Co, the company run by Ben & Erin Napier from HGTV’s Home Town. I’ve always loved them, and I have a few of their products. Emerson tried to use this in one of her books the other day, and as much as I love her, I would not let her do that, for fear I’d never see it again! 😄

I made chicken salad again tonight, for like the fourth week in a row, because it’s so good and easy, and the girls love it so much too. Plus, it’s easy to make the whole meal pretty low-carb for me, with low-carb bread and fruit and/or a salad, and it just doesn’t require too much brain power in my plans, and I need that, especially in the crazy month of May.

The girls had a bath after dinner, and I worked on a bit of tidying up in the kitchen after getting all the food and leftovers put away. I read while they watched PB&J, and then we got started on bedtime books and the rest of our usual routine.

Gonna finish cleaning up the pile of junk that has accumulated on the kitchen counter lately, and then sit down to read or puzzle a little bit before bedtime.
