Coffee Catastrophe

Looks like they just had to stop for gas station snacks first thing this morning on the way to school. But it looks like Addie chose Pringles, over a more traditional breakfast option…

Then they dropped off Emmie first so she wouldn’t be late, and Addie took a little gift to her assistant teacher lady today.

And then I had a coffee catastrophe, as I dropped and spilled my entire cup of homemade iced coffee in the elevator at work today. When the doors started closing on me and bumped into my arm, it knocked my cup onto the floor and coffee splashed everywhere. The lid also broke, so not only did I lose all my coffee, but I lost the cup too! (And it was embarrassing, since there were three other people in the elevator already, and I had to go find the folks in General Services to call maintenance for clean-up.) Luckily for me, one of my employees had this little packet of cappuccino mix, which wasn’t great, but was definitely better than nothing.

I wanted an “after” picture of the girls when I picked them up from school today, to show how hot and pink and sweaty they were, as opposed to all shiny and fresh in the mornings.

I air-fried some chicken nuggets for dinner tonight, and turned mine into a buffalo chicken salad with romaine, bleu cheese crumbles, crispy onions, chopped dill pickles, and Ranch dressing. And it was very good, but actually not as good as the salad from Sunday at Huey Magoo’s.

These cutie pies were playing together sweetly after dinner, and I worked on my puzzle for a bit. They saw me and came to work on it with me too, and were just so precious.

And bedtime meant all the girls cuddled up in Mama’s bed together, including the furry one with her tongue poking out (!), to read a book.

Emerson fell asleep almost immediately tonight, but Addison took much longer to calm down and get ready to actually sleep. Tonight feels like another good night for puzzling or reading, or maybe just scrolling on my phone for a bit…
