Emerson had a quick orthodontist check-up appointment early this morning at 7:30am. They’re always moving very quickly and efficiently there though, and things go very smoothly. They want her to wear her “twin block” retainers full time (except when eating obviously) for another three months. And then if her progress is where they want it by October, she’ll be able to move to only wearing it at nighttime, and she’s already excited about that possibility. I reminded her though that she still needs to be really good about wearing them all the time until then, so that her teeth are where they should be at that point.
Then after her appointment, her and I hit up a brand new breakfast truck in town, since it was over in that same area. I think they literally just opened up in the last month or so, but I somehow found them on Facebook around the same time they opened, and have been following them. It just so happened to work out today, so we treated ourselves. The folks working were incredibly nice, and even gave Emmie free water & apple juice while we were waiting, since they were working so hard to get all the food out to everyone.

I ordered their sunrise combo for a sandwich (I got the pork roll with egg & cheese on an everything bagel) and iced latte for $12. Emerson ordered the plain bagel with strawberry schmear. And although my iced latte wasn’t quite up to my normal standards, the food was delicious! We actually split both bagels, and they were both super good.

They do New Jersey style pork rolls and bagels, and this was my first time having a pork roll like this. I want to try it on their actual roll next time, instead of the bagel, but I’m a sucker for an everything bagel so I had to try that out first. I also want to try their sesame bagel, and their blueberry lemon schmear as well.

For dinner tonight, the plan was Asian lettuce wraps, with rice & broccoli on the side. But then when I opened up the lettuce, it was all wayyy too flimsy and tiny to make any actual wraps. So I just piled it all up instead, and decided to save the lettuce for a salad or something. (I did double-check first to make sure it wasn’t part of the parasitic lettuce outbreak though, and we’re in the clear.)

I made a little garlic aioli with the Japanese Kewpie mayo, and then added pickled red onion and my Asian marinated pickles on the side, and this was delicious!

I just liked Emmie’s curly, wavy hair tonight, and this crazy messy half-up bun I threw up for her.

Addie put herself to bed by putting herself in my pillow case, and flopping her legs around.

I put the leftovers away after getting the girls to sleep tonight, but I just really am NOT in the mood to wash dishes now… Doubtful I’ll be able to motivate myself to do so, but we’ll see…
