Hardworking Saturday

The first photo I took today, was at like 12:30 pm, at lunch time. We had some cereal for breakfast around 8am, and then worked hard on tons of chores for like 4 hours. We had a million loads of laundry to get through, and a sink full of dishes to wash, and we tidied up both of the girls’ rooms, and the living room. Then I fixed some random stuff for the girls to eat for lunch, and tired to do the same for Jeff and I after getting Addie down for her nap, but it didn’t work out, so he grabbed us Mexican pizzas from Taco Bell. But I didn’t like it, and I wasn’t feeling great, so I ate less than half of mine, and just one bite of a taco…

And then Emmie and I went and laid down and napped for about two hours.

I didn’t do a grocery pick-up order yesterday since we were so busy on our field trip, so we went inside the store to do actual shopping today. Addie was getting hangry though, so we had to feed her like 4 cookies out of our yet-unpaid-for package while we finished up.

The girls ran around the front yard for a bit when we got home, while Jeff was unloading all the groceries from the trunk.

Look at these two beautiful books we got in the mail this week! We’ve been collecting these illustrated Harry Potter books for years now, and every time they release one is around the time of our anniversary, so we always splurge on one as a gift to ourselves 🙂 And I won the other little paperback novel in a Goodreads giveaway!

Jeff put in an order for dinner from Solle’s pizza, and we picked it up around 6, with intentions to go eat at the park nearby at Fred George. But there was a big giant birthday party happening there, so we just came on home to eat in our own backyard instead.

I love getting their white pie, and then dressing it up with these additional “toppings,” to really jazz it up further, and it’s so stinking good. I still really want to try some of their Italian entrees & their antipasto salad, so maybe I’ll get something new next time.

Of course we stayed outside playing for a while since it felt so nice.

And then our next door neighbor told us they were doing a big giant jet flyover for the FSU game, so we stayed outside until we finally saw it, and it was so cool! The plane was flying so low and slow, and literally went over the tree-line right in our own backyard. It was super loud, and we loved it!

Since it was late by that point, we skipped bath time, and just went straight to get ready for bedtime. We read two picture books, and two devotionals, and one chapter of “The Littles.” It was a lot of reading, but we both loved it.

And clearly this little baby girl was just exhausted, and they were both sound asleep like this together.

Even though I took a decent nap today, I did so much chores & errands before and after that, that I’m still just really worn out now. I’m also still battling a head cold, and it’s just really starting to annoy me. Heading to make a mug of hot mint tea, and then settle in for some rest. It was a hardworking Saturday, and even though we didn’t finish everything, I’m still proud of how much we got done. And we’ll work on some more tomorrow afternoon as well…
